Requested move 10 August 2022
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Not Moved. Clear consensus this goes against the relevant naming convention. OP has since been blocked, so don't think there is anymore discussion to be had.(non-admin closure) — NZFC(talk)(cont) 16:23, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
It was proposed in this section that Alex Scott (footballer, born 1984) be renamed and moved to Alex Scott (female footballer).
The discussion has been closed, and the result will be found in the closer's comment. Move logs: source title · target title

Alex Scott (footballer, born 1984) → Alex Scott (female footballer) – Presumably the only female footballer with that name at the moment Tom Cadmore254 (talk) 09:53, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
- Note: This discussion has been included in WikiProject Football's list of association football-related page moves. GiantSnowman 19:51, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose - nope, sorry, doesn't sit right with me. We wouldn't disambiguate somebody as 'male footballer'. GiantSnowman 19:53, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose - goes against the relevant naming convention, also if there is another Alex Scott who is female then the article will have to be moved back to this name. Suggestions like this are unlikely to be moved since both Alex and Scott are common fore and surnames respectively. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 21:34, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
- Just to add a bit more info: the other three footballers of the same common name are male so this should stay put for consistency, rather than being an odd one out of four same named people with the same identifier. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 18:13, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. Goes against WP:NCSP#Association football (soccer) naming conventions, and WP:NCP in general really. Steel1943 (talk) 07:56, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose as above. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:52, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
- Note: This nominator appears to be a sock of some sort as Extraordinary Wiki pointed out on Talk:Charlie Savage which is due to be moved to Charlie Savage (author), in case none of you noticed the nominator has been glocked already. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 13:16, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose goes against footballer naming conventions, and gender is not the correct way to disambiguate on Wikipedia. Current disambiguation is perfectly fine. Joseph2302 (talk) 08:17, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose per above. Kante4 (talk) 14:05, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
