Citations edit

An IP added a lot of {cn} tags to the article, but the specifically tagged sentences don't seem to necessarily require in-line citations, in my view. The list of references provided seem sufficient. --Orphic (talk) 07:23, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

In the course of editing this article, I tried to provide citations for the information provided in the original article, using mainly the resources already provided in the resource list. I also moved around some of the information to provide a better understanding of the different eras of Adela's life. Mmccole (talk) 23:35, 22 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Typos and inconsistencies edit

I have added 3 tags in the article:

  • "Henry, Bishop of Winchester (1101-1171) oblate child raised at Cherite sur Loire (Cluny Abbey)"
    • the intended text is probably La Charité-sur-Loire, which had the first priory of Cluny Abbey (and was therefore distinct from Cluny itself). I cannot find any source and his article does not mention La Charité-sur-Loire.
  • Place of death of Adela is mentioned as Marcigny-sur-Loire in the infobox, and Marsilly, Poitou-Charentes, in the text. Cannot find source for this either
  • If anyone is more knowledgeable, thanks for cleaning up the article. Olivier (talk) 00:01, 10 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Adela's inherited title? edit

This article seems so awkwardly written for such an important historical figure, and by far the biggest issue is the sentence "She brought with her [to her husband] not only her title". This completely contradicts a later paragraph which states that despite coming from a noble family of great influence and wealth, Adela did not officially inherit any titles from her parents (but instead her siblings did). On the contrary, the article explicitly states that Adela gained her title through her marriage, and not vice versa. Therefore, I would appreciate if someone could explain which title does this sentence refer to. Editor-Plejer (talk) 20:49, 5 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

I've changed that to 'bloodline', based on what's said in the sentence before it. Celia Homeford (talk) 14:28, 6 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
