Requested copy editing

edit

Request has been posted at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Guild_of_Copy_Editors/Requests#Abu_Huzaifa_al-Kanadi.

I made an initial run over the text for basic grammar and punctuation, but there are some sentences that I don't feel confident adjusting. Will elaborate below.

booked a flight from his Pakistani passport

edit

The article has “booked a flight from to Lahore to Istanbul from his Pakistani passport”. Did he require the passport to make the booking? In that case we would say “booked ... on his Pakistani passport”. But if the passport was only required to make the flight, but not to book it, then it would be better to write “flew from Lahore to Istanbul on [or using] his Pakistani passport”. Don't know if you saw my ping. I've opened a thread at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests#Abu Huzaifa al-Kanadi copyedit; since the requester has been blocked for socking, the GOCE may be done here. Please comment on that page. Thanks and all the best, Miniapolis 13:46, 28 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
Oh, my bad, Mini; I'll see that thread. Thanks for noting here also. Please forgive me for saving the section below that I was already writing before I noticed this. Pelagic (talk) 17:09, 28 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

opposition of keeping Canadians safe

edit

Goodale stated that it was the "opposition of keeping Canadians safe"

The phrase seems unlikely. Is it just a simple typo where "opposition" should be "opposite"? Could somebody confirm the quote from the cited source?

Alternately, there was a CBC article available online with a different quote.
