Ranking edit

The footnote of Group B should be removed, this is not clear yet if Liverpool is at least qualified to Europa League preliminary knockout round but if you think this is correct then you should add the same thing for Ajax FC in group C who have 9 points as well. If I am wrong, please instruct me! Thanks.

It is clear, as Liverpool cannot finish 4th. If Milan win their three games to go ahead of them, only one of the other two clubs can go above Liverpool. It is not simply as case of having 9 points - in group C Ajax could still finish 4th on a tie breaker if all other clubs achieve 9 points. Boothy m (talk) 11:44, 20 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ajax have 12 points in their group nd Dortmund have 6, from where Ajax beat Dortmund both home and away, I think they will finish on top even if they lose their next double matches and tie with Dortmund with 12 points. Zaki Frahmand 24 November 2021, 18:49 UTC

It's Sporting who can still overtake Ajax, not Dortmund. --BlameRuiner (talk) 08:26, 24 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Change Manchester United can finish 2nd/3rd/4th in the allocation of teams, to 2nd/3rd. One of Leicester and Chelsea will finish below United since they face each other. 27.4.1.86 (talk) 05:47, 13 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Association Ranking edit

According to UEFA ranking, Spain is no longer on top of Europe. This stat shows that England with 100.14 is on top followed by Spain with 97.712 and Italy with 75.438 points.

It just needs to be updated with https://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/uefarankings/country/#/yr/2021 . Walter Görlitz (talk) 07:44, 24 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
The association ranking used to determine the access list for the 2021–22 European competitions is up to the end of the 2019–20 season so the ranking in the article is correct. Stevie fae Scotland (talk) 08:30, 24 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Manoisayev: please read Association ranking carefully! UEFA uses ranking for 2015/17-2019-20 for slot allocation for this season! This user changed assoc. ranking to 2021. Why no one reverted changes to correct state? Please do it if anyone changes rankings to incorrect ones again. And please leave some warning on user's talk page as well. -- Sfaxx (talk) 12:23, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

No more away goals rule edit

BBC reporting that UEFA are taking out the away goals rule from this season. not sure of the best place to note that (or should it be noted at all?) 141.92.129.45 (talk) 14:03, 24 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

... and I've just realised that it says NEXT season. Ignore me then 141.92.129.45 (talk) 14:04, 24 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

2022-23 Champions League page on my talk page edit

I have set up a draft of the 2022-23 CL season with updated rankings, allocations, etc. on my talk page. Should this be activated since associations are starting up their seasons now? ThatStatMan (talk) 02:29, 27 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Start a new group stage article edit

Should we start a new group stage article? Please let me know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by R3alPTg (talkcontribs) 04:20, 25 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

There is one at 2021–22 UEFA Champions League group stage already. It's a redirect, but what can be added to it at this stage? Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:29, 25 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Photo of Krestovsky Stadium edit

The current photo — File:Fina-l2017.jpg — isn't recognizable, it's the photo of every full stadium of the world, but not in Russia and not in Saint Petersburg. I am from Russia and I don't recognize this stadium. The photo should be changed. It's quality is bad and the sky isn't blue (white). What do you think about these photos below? They depicts the stadium and the Russia better, then the current.

Red Bull Salzburg edit

In international matches the name is FC Salzburg.--Werner100359 (talk) 18:09, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

That's what UEFA call them, but we don't care about that. The club's name is Red Bull Salzburg. – PeeJay 19:48, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Qualified Teams Table Suggestion edit

Would you consider bolding the teams in the Qualified Teams Table under 'Teams' that make it to the Group Stage as its great to see how deep some teams that qualify ultimately make it. Jaapstam33 (talk) 21:57, 20 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

League position of Villarreal edit

I wondered how Villarreal qualified as the 7th-placed team of La Liga. The table seems that they qualified as the 7th-placed team of La Liga. KyleRGiggs (talk) 19:21, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Attendance at final edit

An attendance of 75,000 at the final is not likely to be correct. At athletic evens the maximum capacity is 75,000. At rugny/football matches the capacity is higher (the running track is used as well for spectators). An attendance of 80,000 is more likely as can been seen for the World Cup final 1998 between France and Brazil: Official details for France v Brazil 1998 in JSON format. The stadion website also mentions 80,000. Perhaps the attendace was even 81,338.

UEFA did not provide the data in the pdf document this time. Island92 (talk) 09:48, 4 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Tell me something I don't know. The PDF not providing the number, doesn't mean you use the number from the first source you find which provides one, especially when it's clear it can't be a correct number. Here's another source which mentions over 80,000. --Sb008 (talk) 14:39, 4 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

75,000 is more reliable for the time being as UEFA capacity for the final had been established at less than 80,000. Island92 (talk) 15:40, 4 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Source for the by the UEFA established capacity? Or you believe it will soon become clear? --Sb008 (talk) 21:50, 4 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Stadium capacity for the final was 75,000.--Island92 (talk) 22:59, 4 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
