Kits edit

Umbro are not the kit sponsor or manufacturer of FC Goa. Sources are not strong too and no official statement from FC Goa on jersey manufactures too. Footballmasala (talk) 06:14, 19 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Page name edit

The name of the page is "2017–18" instead of "2017" due to the press release from the bid invitations saying 2017–18 themselves. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 04:22, 31 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Spot in Continental Cups edit

It is not mentioned in article that where the winner of this season will participate in continent level. It is clear now that ISL is a fully professional league and recognized by both AFC and FIFA and winner get qualifying spot in AFC cup. So in which season of AFC cup the winner of ISL 2017-18 get chance to qualify? Is it 2019 AFC Cup? Please confirm and update the article accordingly.सुमित सिंह (talk) 07:52, 17 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

We will need to know who qualifies for the AFC Cup. Will it be the finals champion, the regular season champion? We got to know. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 17:44, 20 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Yes , it is confirmed that the winner of isl 2017-18 will get qualifying spot in AFC cup 2019 Vikram138740 (talk) 16:54, 24 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

I don't know what you are trying to say here. Also Wikipedia is not a reliable source, you need external sources that can confirm this. Coderzombie (talk) 17:12, 25 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
The place we edit isn't a reliable source ;) But ya, it was said by the AFC that the ISL would get a spot BUT only if the club that qualifies passes the AFC licensing criteria in 2018. It isn't official yet. [1]. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:29, 25 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Attendance statistics edit

We have removed attendance related statistics from the page, because ISL is no longer publishing them in match reports or matchcenter. If anyone else has a reliable source for the same, please share, we can discuss it. Coderzombie (talk) 19:10, 19 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

I think we can use the references of the official tweets for attendances of each club's twitter handle. Those twitter handles are official and verified by twitter and they post the total attendance after each match. To support my views, I would like to draw your attention to the Big Bash League article where they use attendance references in this way. Example [2] is the official announcement from FC Bengaluru twitter handle after their first home match. Arka 92 06:26, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
If the clubs tweet the attendance, we can take it as a reliable source, but except Bengaluru FC, I haven't seen any other club doing that. Coderzombie (talk) 06:37, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Exactly. We need every team posting attendance and so far we haven't seen that. We also don't have player of the week anymore which sucks. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 22:59, 23 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
@User:Coderzombie It's good to see Attendance figures back. But you didn't cite any source. Oh wait ya it is in reports now. Thanks सुमित सिंह (talk) 07:53, 2 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Round wise summary edit

Do editors think it'd be a good idea to include a round-wise summary? Not a detailed summary for every round, but a quick 2-3 lines for every round? Coderzombie (talk) 20:05, 26 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

The reason I mention is, because we don't have a round-wise standings because of weird scheduling, this would be helpful in understanding the progression of league. On that note, does it make sense to have a round-wise position table again? I haven't looked at the full schedule, so not sure if it makes sense. Coderzombie (talk) 20:07, 26 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
If you can find a proper source for it, then add it. We would need the table by round for every round sourced. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 14:48, 27 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Source for Results edit

Why is the source here linked to standings? I updated it to the fixtures page but it was reverted.

sudhanva (talk) 14:55, 4 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Done not sure who reverted it. Coderzombie (talk) 15:10, 4 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

I am not sure why Major League Soccer plus season on title? Hhhhhkohhhhh (talk) 05:54, 9 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Because in Major League Soccer, we have a regular season and then playoffs. Same concept as in the Indian Super League. Also, it makes more sense. This is the ISL 4th season and the 2017–18 season. Personally I would rather 2017–18 Premier League season if I had my way but I know I won't. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 06:18, 9 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
I withdrew the request. Thanks for telling me. Hhhhhkohhhhh (talk) 07:00, 9 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Assists? edit

Per WP:NFOOTY guidelines, assists should not be included in stats. Should it be kept? Coderzombie (talk) 15:31, 10 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

We don't have a comprehensible definition of assists on wikipedia and besides the ISL website, not many sources hold it. I say get rid of it. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 21:21, 11 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Emerging player of the match edit

How does ISL define emerging player of the match? I think we should add a line above the table to explain it, with citation. Coderzombie (talk) 17:38, 21 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have never seen a source for that and have seen guys as old as 28 win it. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 20:01, 21 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
I'm beginning to think it's anyone uncapped. Coderzombie (talk) 07:43, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
From the national team? But Jerry Lalrinzuala has won it recently and so has Halicharan. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 08:10, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Arrrghh. So has Chhangte and Udanta. Coderzombie (talk) 08:33, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
We should post this on /r/unsolvedmysteries, even they would be stumped by this. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 08:41, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Post league cleanup edit

We have three pages related league. This one, 2017–18 Indian Super League finals and 2018 Indian Super League Final and almost all of them are complete. The final page can use a lot more things, but it's not incomplete, per se. So just making sure that we are not missing out on any big details on these pages. Leave a comment if you think that's the case. Coderzombie (talk) 07:29, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I honestly haven't looked closely at this page in a while so I will do so later. The finals page is I think done now and the Final page is just a work in progress. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 08:42, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
