Rewritten

Title

What's up with the change of the article title, all the articles about elections all over the world, including Egypt have the year at the end of the title, it should be the same way here.--189.216.8.233 (talk) 18:54, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

For any event you have to add the year before this is wikipedia rule. For example

Election monitoring section

I'm going to go ahead and remove it, unless somebody else objects. Gamal Mubarak no longer holds any position of power in Egypt, and I have a difficult time believing the Egyptian public will allow his decision to not have any election monitors stand. Needs more references

The references given do not provide information on all of the candidates and backgrounds. Furthermore, citations are not in appropriate places(after bits of important information or stated facts). Polling numbers don't add up.

the Oct 2011 ACPSS poll seems to have some inaccurate numbers. If you add up all the percentages they are over %100. The source where the data seems to have been taken from does not list an "other" category. This seems to be the source of the error. biased materials

Continuity of Name Spellings

While I realize that transliterating is not an easy task, and that there are multiple ways to do so. However, I think the article would look a lot cleaner if there were constant spellings throughout. Is one of the standards here used more often than the others? Otherwise I suggest we use the UN Conference on Standardization of Geographic Names purely out of a personal preference or simply whichever romalization that is on their respective Wikipedia articles if one exists. Quick example: Mohamed Morsi (محمد محمد مرسى عيسى العياط‎) has multiple spellings, as does most everyone else. Stujames (talk) 05:55, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

I'd just go with the most common spelling. "Mohamed Morsi" for example is the most commonly used, and it's the spelling used by the Muslim Brotherhood's English website. Trinitresque (talk) 01:20, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Minor candidates

The figures at al-Ahram giving results by governorate (http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/42755.aspx) only show votes cast for the eight minor candidates in seven governorates. Is this because they weren't on the ballot paper in the other governorates, or are al-Ahram's figures incomplete? Intelligent Mr Toad (talk) 12:06, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Ahmed Shafiq picture

The Ahmed Shafiq picture here is worse than no picture by leaps and bounds. It does not provide a true representation of Ahmed Shafiq. It shows a distorted image of him with black markings and an entire chin and philtrum region that is almost completely fake. The black markings on his lips in particular distorts his facial expression to make him look like he's scowling. I'm not away of any Wikipedia policy that promotes the use of images that double as political cartoons to depict a person, so this image has no place on this article. Prazers, I don’t have to explain why the Egyptian Army was called the Royal Egyptian Army during the Mohamed Ali Dynasty, it’s common sense as Egypt was a monarchy at the time. My friend, go to Anwar Sadat’s Wikipedia and you will find “Royal Egyptian Army” on his allegiance list. I’m not adding information my brain is inventing. Trust me I’m adding facts my friend. Ok, much of that was nonsensical. But I take it you're saying that this IP edit was yours. If so, then why didn't you explain that after you were reverted and asked to clarify here? It seems to me like your original wording would be more useful for readers, but I don't particularly care at this point.
