Basis of jurisdiction?
editIt would improve the article to include the basis of jurisdiction for a federal trial rather than a state crime. There is no obvious federal crime. Yes, kidnapping but the crimes occurred within Iowa with no transportation over state lines.--TGC55 (talk) 20:47, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

Angela Johnson → Angela Johnson and Dustin Honken – Honken is highly likely to be executed tomorrow. Most people viewing this article will be viewing it because of the coverage around his federal execution. Ultimately, Johnson is no longer on death row anyway. The article should either be renamed to include Honken in the title, so more information can be added about him, or, a separate article for Honken should be created. - Support, or something like 1993 Iowa murders. She was notable when this article was created in 2005 for being on death row, but now it looks like the event itself is more notable than her. His name should probably come first since she just assisted. – Thjarkur (talk) 15:09, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
- Support – I think that, in some manner, the boyfriend should have an article or be part of the title here ... and/or ... re-title the article as "the murder of ...". Or some such. Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 17:19, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
- Support – Dustin Honken was the main perpetrator of these crimes, specifically being a drug manufacturer, which was what made it a federal crime ("Continuing Criminal Enterprise Murder": Rap Sheet). And his execution is likely to make him more searched for than Angela Johnson. I'm not sure why the criminals should be split into multiple pages (i.e., a page each for Angela Johnson and Dustin Honken), but we should either combine them (as suggested) or make a page like 1993 Iowa murders as suggested by Thjarkur. Harveyhiestand (talk) 16:59, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- Support - both are discussed in the whole article. Stephen"Zap" (talk) 21:45, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- Support - per above, although I am neutral whether it should be to Angela Johnson and Dustin Honken or the 1993 Iowa murders. Inter&anthro (talk) 02:28, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
- Support - It's a twin bio, so having just one of the subjects in the title is completely incorrect and misleading. Ref (chew)(do) 15:00, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
- Support – but recommend title 1993 Iowa murders. A single page as the bio of two individuals is a bit odd. A page on what ultimately makes them notable (the murders for which they were convicted) makes more sense. Also, with the dual bio formulation, it is questionable whether Johnson should go before Honken. Johnson's role was secondary to Honken's; Honken was executed and Johnson ended up having her death sentence overturned and getting a life sentence instead. Those two facts suggest Honken's role in this is more important, but putting Johnson's name first possibly suggests the opposite. The "1993 Iowa murders" title avoids that issue. Categories
editThe categories listed at the bottom of the article need to be edited and updated. They still appear to "categorize" the article when it was titled Angela Johnson. Now that the article is re-titled as 1993 Iowa murders, some of those categories need to be changed. Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 02:52, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
- I did my best. I was not sure if we include categories for Johnson, Honken, the actual murders themselves ... or for all three components of this article? Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 16:41, 26 July 2020 (UTC)
