Links from articles
editThere are not that many links from articles to this portal. the talk pages are linked through the associated wikiproject. that means this portal is of more use to editors than readers, and it should be more the other way. I may try to add links from high traffic or well written/important articles. Ive done some initial editing on the lead of the portal, and may add some new content. Im not a fan of nested portals where one is nearly half the contents of the larger portal, but i cant change that now. I think it would be nicer to have a separate portal for central america/caribbean, and south america native peoples, but that would require more people than just me being interested. for now, this will have to do to cover sam/meso am natives.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 15:11, 26 September 2014 (UTC)

Notice from the Portals WikiProject
editWikiProject Portals is back!
The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018. Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, support the ongoing improvement of portals and the editors dedicated to this, and design the portals of the future.
As of May 2nd, 2018, membership is at 60 editors, and growing. You are welcome to join us.
There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for improving each component of portals. So far, 2 new dynamic components have been developed: Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.
Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.
And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.
From your friendly neighborhood Portals WikiProject. Hope to see you there. Sincerely, — The Transhumanist 07:33, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
Voynich manuscript
editWhat on earth is the Voynich manuscript doing on this portal?
I suppose there may be theories out there that the manuscript is of indigeneous American origin, but those theories are not in the article (and probably shouldn't be, as it is just one of hundreds of plausible or implausible theories about the manuscript without much evidence to back them up - until we have a good independent source saying otherwise).
