I rewrote to emphasize authorship of the Hindi section of the Teach Yourself Languages Series, for which he is best known.

Also included the fact that he was the 1997 recipient of the Dr. George Grierson Award for promotion of the Hindi language.

The draft as originally written was unencyclopedic, with lots of "personal reminiscences" and a focus on relatively obscure scholarly work rather than the authorship of popular language-learning books that are the actual source of his notability to anyone studying Hindi as an English speaker.
