Draft:Monumen Nasional (Transjakarta)

  • Comment: Bus stops are not inherently notable (in fact, per WP:BUSOUTCOMES, they're more likely to be inherently non-notable), therefore notability would depend on meeting WP:GNG. But the sources cited are a mix of non-reliable (Instagram) and non-mentions, and therefore fall far short of meeting that standard. DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:58, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

Monumen Nasional or Monas is a TransJakarta bus rapid transit station located at Medan Merdeka Barat street, Jakarta, Indonesia. It is located adjacent with the National Museum of Indonesia on the west and the National Monument on the east, hence the name "Monas".

It primarly serves corridor 1 and began operational along with the corridor's soft launch on 15 January 2004. As the impact of the Jakarta MRT North–South Line extension, corridors 6A and 6B were shortened from this station to M.H. Thamrin on 28 February 2023,[1][2] due to Harmoni BRT station as the terminus of corridor 2 would be moved into a temporary building—where corridor 2 have to move its terminus to Monas—as of 4 March 2023. Corridors 5C and 7F are also extended to Juanda.[2][3] On 29 May 2023, Monas BRT station began to serve as the temporary terminus of corridor 3 after being shortened from Bundaran HI which originally terminates at Pasar Baru.[4]

Building and layout edit

The original building was in a form of two small separated buildings, so only corridor 1 stops here, while corridor 2 continues straight, and passengers who wanted to change direction had to pay again. Since occupying a new building in 2009,[citation needed] this station has become a transit point on corridors 1 and 2.

On 10 September 2023, TransJakarta stated that Monas, CSW, and Cawang UKI BRT stations are designated as major transit hubs and central stations of the BRT system, like the previous one in Harmoni.[5] Therefore, Monas BRT station is planned to be extended from its current building length at 26 metres to 70 metres by 2024, because the station has already appointed as the temporary central station of TransJakarta, replacing Harmoni.[6]
