Arden is a planned high-density suburb in Melbourne Victoria. This new suburb is part of an urban-renewal program and will be centred around the under-construction Arden station which is set to open in 2024.[1][2] The suburb will be a mix-used neighbourhood and is set to accomdate 15,000 residents and 34,000 jobs.[1]

The first stage of the project will consist of 14 hectares (35 acres) with the full precint being a total of 44.1 hectares (109 acres).[3]

As a part of the under-construction Metro Tunnel project, Arden will receive an underground railway station. This station will consist of two platforms and is set to open in September 2024.[4][2]

Additionally Arden is also near the existing North Melbourne station which consists of six platforms and serves six metropolitan and two regional services. Following the opening of the Metro Tunnel services on the Sunbury line be re-routed through the Metro Tunnel and will instead serve Arden.[5]
