perhaps we should list next to each newspaper's name the country in which it's published, or the language. Valkotukka 19:55, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Formerly communist newspapers

edit

As opposed to defunkt, would it perhaps be useful to have a category for newspapers that used to label themselves communist but no longer do? __meco (talk) 15:37, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

'Postcommunist newspapers' would be my suggestion. However, the category 'postcommunist political parties' was cfd:ed some time ago. --Soman (talk) 15:42, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Surely post-communism denotes something that is different from merely noting that a newspaper has left its former ideological anchoring. I don't know how many newspapers this would apply to. I only know of the Norwegian Klassekampen. __meco (talk) 18:01, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
It would apply to many soviet newspapers, like Pravda, etc.. --Soman (talk) 19:46, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Good, good. If we can produce a few more, we might be able to siphon them into a more descriptive category. __meco (talk) 20:49, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

delimitation

edit

I see a problem in labelling all newspapers published in communist-ruled states as 'communist'. There should be a delimitation of the cat, in terms of only including organs of communist parties and explicitly communist organisations. --Soman (talk) 15:46, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
