Oppose all EXCEPT the "minor league affiliates", "lists", "templates", and "current organization team rosters templates" categories. For all of the other category trees listed, the standard treatment for MLB teams that have had multiple names is for the category with the current team name to include only pages that apply to the team's history under its current name, with subcategories corresponding to past team names. See, e.g., Category:Los Angeles Angels, Category:Anaheim Angels, Category:California Angels, and Category:Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. — Dale Arnett (talk) 03:34, 21 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Expanding on above comment: As an example of how these categories should be treated, Category:Cleveland Guardians should be the main team category, with Category:Cleveland Indians retained as a container for pages and categories specifically relating to the team's history as the Indians. — Dale Arnett (talk) 01:20, 22 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
