Question about adding contribution edit

I'm trying to add a contribution against my name. The page I edited is सुराबया https://hi.wikipedia.org/s/8e79, but it is showing up in red as 'page does not exist'. What to do? SohneeHarshey (talk) 07:43, 28 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

& At last, there is a question. Is editing articles count as contribution? (as always?)

Amir R. Pourkashef

@Amir R. Pourkashef:: Hi, as stated in the rules, only newly created articles during November 2015 that fulfill the criteria stated, are counted.  Kenrick  Talk 13:49, 27 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Please include Asian Music also.. --Rafay Malik
@Pakarmy4923:, all the topic of Asian is included.--AddisWang (talk) 23:46, 31 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Question about contributing in fr-WP edit

Hello. I've seen some tools to check progression for each contributor. Just a thing, I contribute on the fr-Wiki, it doesn't work. What can I do ? --Tsaag Valren (talk) 17:11, 2 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Tsaag Valren:Wikipedia Asian Month does not launch on French Wikipedia. If you want make your contribution on fr.wiki counts, you can hold this event on French Wikipedia, as we will provide all kinds of support for you.--AddisWang (talk) 17:30, 2 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Arf. Sad. --Tsaag Valren (talk) 17:48, 2 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Tsaag Valren:, we don't speak French and unable to find a french speaker to join us. The preparation time is short, but I assume we will extent to frwp next year.--AddisWang (talk) 19:00, 2 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Question on eligibility edit

If I were to write an article on the Bengal yellowfin seabream (Acanthopagrus longispinnis), a fish found on the coasts of India, would it count towards this project? What about a bird or a frog found only in Asia? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 11:30, 6 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Cwmhiraeth:yes, and we already have some articles about these.--AddisWang (talk) 14:18, 6 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 14:20, 6 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Hello AddisWang, I created the page Tomb of Sikandar Lodi in Oct and it was expanded only in Nov (check page history). It is a DYK nominee also. I noticed that the page has been excluded from the count. Can you please have a look at that again? Thanks, Arun Kumar SINGH (Talk) 13:48, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
@AKS.9955:So when you expanded this article, it was already over 4k bytes. We can not combine several people's work.--AddisWang (talk) 15:46, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • @AKS.9955:I see what you mean. Although it does not fit the rule anyway, but I think it should be special case for it. I will change the mark to Y but definitely not encourage to do so.--AddisWang (talk) 16:42, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Very kind of you AddisWang but trust me, its not important. See, I am writing new articles anyways and am just enjoying participating in this event. If you make an exception, perhaps it will set a wrong precedence. So please take a call on this. I am sorry if I put pressure on you. By the way, great initiative and very good job done in bringing this event up. Cheers, Arun Kumar SINGH (Talk) 16:44, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • @AKS.9955:No worry on rules. It's not competition in the first place. Glad and appreciate you write so many articles!--AddisWang (talk) 16:47, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Thanks AddisWang for your initiative. It is because of people like you and the team that others get motivated to edit. I am happy to be a part of the event and the rest of the days, I will continue writing more. Keep up the good work and may thanks for the consideration. I wish you a very happy Diwali and a happy new year. Cheers, Arun Kumar SINGH (Talk) 16:51, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Add names at the bottom? edit

Is there any particular reason why people are supposed to add their names to the bottom of the list? Why not just put it in the peoper place alphabetically? I notice some users are doing that anyway. StAnselm (talk) 20:54, 12 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Forget to delete, done.--AddisWang (talk) 02:25, 13 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Same with me too - can the reviewers pls have a look at the listed ones - thanks a lot in advance.Ssriram mt (talk) 15:34, 24 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Yes, me too - I've been waiting more than a week. There are only a few reviewers, and I think they are swamped. I've got a couple of borderline entries, and it's quite frustrating not knowing exactly what the standard is. Then again, the rules don't say anything about them being reviewed during the month. But I will be annoyed if I miss out on my postcard because of this. StAnselm (talk) 17:41, 24 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Pinging organisers @Titodutta: @AddisWang: @SuperHamster: @Sky Harbor: @Ochilov: and @永続繁栄: we would really like some action on this. StAnselm (talk) 18:23, 26 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hey all (@Dksats: @Ssriram mt: @StAnselm:). Thanks for your concern, and sorry for the wait! I know it's important to get feedback for articles ASAP. It's indeed a matter of the organizers having the time to review articles. We've tried to have at least one article reviewed per participant so far so that participants know that they're on the right track. With this week being Thanksgiving, I'll have time this weekend to do some reviewing. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 19:03, 26 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
For me, the problem now is that I am busy in real life + organizing WAM in ruwiki, eowiki and uzwiki. About your articles: They all will be checked till the end of December. If there is a problem in amount of words (20~30 words less than needed), and you were not notified about this in November, your article will pass to WAM criteria. --Ochilov (talk) 13:09, 27 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Dksats, StAnselm, and Ssriram mt:Don't worry if one of your five unchecked articles are not qualified. Since we can not check all articles by the end of November due to the huge effort the Wikipedia Asian Month participants made, (so you don't have time to adjust it) we will send you a postcard under the situation that you have four qualified articles and one is not. Sorry for the timing, and thank you all for join the Wikipedia Asian Month!--AddisWang (talk) 04:23, 29 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks so much. StAnselm (talk) 13:57, 29 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

@AddisWang: -Thanks for the post card. May I know when and how will I get the Post Card. And one more thing is on which address you will send it.Dksats (talk) 11:42, 29 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • When can we expect the post cards. Can any one please let us know. (Dksats) 14:56, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

Limassol Carnival Festival edit

(Note:Limassol Carnival Festival is new article and has more the required 3000 ch and is now posted on DYK. I have expanded it now to more than 500 words and removed the cross mark. Similarly in the case of St. Sebastian’s Church, Negombo text has been added to increase the number of words to more than 300 and hence yellow symbol  - has been removed. May like to tick both articles with a  . Thanks. ) (Posted by User:Nvvchar), moved to talk by 15:14, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Oops, these seem to have edited slightly after deadline. Should we use WP:IAR, I'll leave it on someone else. --Tito Dutta (talk) 15:14, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Culling the list of names edit

There are many names on the list of contributors where the person's only contribution during the month (and sometimes their only contribution ever) is to add their name to the list. Whilst they may have contributed to the project "in spirit", would it help the organizers if names were removed of editors that don't have any qualifying edits? AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 01:06, 4 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Makes sense. I am specially interested because it'll be easier for us to review (tag) articles here. --Tito Dutta (talk) 07:16, 10 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Ok, I will start by removing people who made no relevant edits at all. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 07:59, 10 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • I moved three to the "No article submitted" section at the bottom of the page instead. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 00:14, 11 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Kunda System in Karachi edit

User:FreeatlastChitchat has deleted 14,488 bytes of article Kunda System in Karachi. The page is under submission to reviewers the WP:WAMP. Will this situation affect my position in competition? @ User:Titodutta please clarify. Nannadeem (talk) 21:58, 17 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

WP:COATRACK should be avoided if you do not want your articles to be trimmed by other editors. Regards FreeatlastChitchat (talk) 05:37, 18 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
FreeatlastChitchat: In fact WP:COATRACK is an Essay which contains advice or opinion. Thus you should first act in this manner. Further the article falls in the ambit of WP:WINAC. Anyhow your positive contribution towards my competition review pending page will be appreciated. Nannadeem (talk) 18:39, 18 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Umm, no it is a coatrack. FreeatlastChitchat (talk) 19:12, 18 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
