Welcome to the Women in classical music task force, an initiative of WikiProject Women in music.
Objectives edit
This task force focuses on articles related to women with classical music including:
- musicians and organizations articles
Our main goals are to:
- ensure women with classical music articles are represented on Wikipedia by creating and editing related articles
- establish and organize standards for Women in classical music-related articles resulting in well-written articles
- improve the visibility of articles related to women's ice hockey by nominating them for DYK placement on the Wikipedia homepage, or improving them to good or featured status
To join, please add your name to the Members section. There are many ways for you to contribute - small and large. If you have a question, post it on the task force's main talk page.
Notability criteria edit
Although there are women's orchestras expressly included in WikiProject Classical music's notability guideline: WP:CM, there is often enough media coverage about an instrumental performer, vocal performer, orchestral conductor, choral conducting, scholarly research, and contemporary composition. that meets the WP:GNG guideline, which takes precedence over WP:NHOCKEY. For musicians, see WP:NMUSIC.
The key to ensuring that an article that you create is not deleted is providing adequate referencing to meet WP:GNG .
- Make sure the article talk page is tagged with {{WP Women in music|classical=yes}} and {{WP Women}} so that other editors can further improve the article or contribute to an Articles for deletion (AfD) discussion, if needed.
