U.S. Route 1 in New York

  • Class:   C-Class article
  • Action required: Replacement map
  • Status: New request
  • KML: Yes [1]
  • Comments: The existing map should be replaced with one that focuses on the Manhattan, Bronx, and Southeastern Westchester County area, because the route is barely visible at the bottom of the current map. -----User:DanTD (talk) 03:12, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
No opposition on the condition it has the state of NY and a box marking the location. Mitch32(The best ideas are common property.) 03:18, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
True, but it's only within a small portion of the state. The rest of it tends to take the focus away from the route. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 03:21, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
Lately I have not been adding locator insets simply because we have KML. –Fredddie 03:43, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

Good news and bad news. Bad news: I got a flat on my weekend bike ride so if you wanted a photo of the northern terminus of CR 563, New Lisbon, Woodmansie, Four Mile, or Bullock, New Jersey, you're out of luck. The good news, the extra time at home allowed me to finish the map up quicker and here it is: File:Delaware highway system map.svg Let me know if you need any linework changes or overall size bumped up. {{Done}} —Mr. Matté (Talk/Contrib) 17:28, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

The State of Alaska Department of Transportation has KML files at http://www.dot.alaska.gov/stwdplng/mapping/kml.shtml. @Fredddie: But I can view it for some reason!? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Philroc (talkcontribs) 15:05, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
@Philroc: if you don't include a signature in the same edit as you added a {{ping}}, it won't work to ping Fredddie or anyone else. I too cannot access the linked KML. It just says: "You need permission. Want in? Ask the owner for access, or switch to an account with permission." If you can download a copy of the KML file, open it in a plain text editor and then copy/paste it into the contents of Template:Attached_KML/Arkansas_Highway_69, that would correct the KML on our servers. Imzadi 1979  19:34, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
@Philroc: that Google My Maps link is tied to your Google account, so you're the only one who can see it. You need to change the permissions to allow anyone with the link to be able to view it. –Fredddie 21:28, 15 September 2015 (UTC)

  • Comments: Currently U.S. Route 25 in Michigan is at WP:FAC, and this article is headed there afterwards, assuming it has a map. As this is a decommissioned highway from 1962, some care should be taken in marking Interstate Highways (for instance, most of I-69 was not yet approved and none of it was built yet, and what is now I-196 was mostly unfinished and still officially numbered I-96.) I can supply scanned copies of the 1962 MSHD map, if desired. Lastly, it would be nice if the coloration style would match the US 25 map that Fredddie made. Imzadi 1979  15:41, 29 January 2016 (UTC)

Please read the WP:USRD/MTF style guide, which allows for toll roads to be in green. –Fredddie 21:30, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
Then we should add green to the others. We should be more consistent with this. Cards84664 (talk) 14:40, 8 December 2017 (UTC)
