Dear Sir or Madam, I am trying to publish an article on Strategy execution. My initial post was declined because of too few references. I worked on the article and created a more complete version which I tried publishing yesterday (October 17th). However it seems the article is not in the database yet, how can I get it in?

Thank you for your help,

Naomi Vanderstockt

  • There is currently a large backlog of AfC submissions, which is close to 1,000 as I write this. This will take some time to clear, so please be patient. The problem I have with your article is that it's not very clear what in the article the sources relate to, particularly words like "Strategy Execution is a vast area with blurred borders and includes several processes" don't really tell us what it actually is. If that's a quote from one of the references, it must be directly attributed to the source, or it could be removed from the article. Having references not correctly linked up to the article won't necessarily stop it from being passed, but it could result in several cleanup warning templates such as {{nofootnotes}}, {{wikify}} or {{refimprove}} being applied to it, which may mean somebody tries to take the article to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion anyway. --Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:06, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, in regards to my created page, it appears there are more pending articles in que today than there were this past Tuesday. Do you know the timeline of when the article will be reviewed? Thank you. The article in question is referenced in the Subject.

  • There is currently a substantial backlog, with usually around 1,000 submissions being queued. Consequently, it may take some time for your article to be reviewed. However, after a quick glance I'm not inclined to pass it as it is mostly referenced by primary sources, or Youtube videos, which are generally unreliable sources. Sorry. --Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:53, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying to add incline citations but when I put in <ref> </ref> around the paragraph it makes it disappear. I have made notes on the article listed about the incline citations and where they can go. Can you please handle that? My boyfriend died Sunday and I'm making arrangements for his funeral tomorrow. I could really use some help from Wiki so this can go live. Many thanks Jennifermarshall44santafe (talk) 15:27, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My condolences for your loss; maybe it would be best to take some time off from editing so you're not stressed out by multiple tasks?
I've looked over your article, and though it's not ready to publish yet, the subject himself appears to easily meet WP:Notability. That is, he's clearly someone we should have an article about. In the short term though, the article isn't quite written to Wikipedia standards, so it'll take some tweaking. The biggest issue is WP:Sourcing; IMBD is a useful hobbyist site, but not authoritative, and Romero's own business website clearly can't be expected to be neutral and impartial, so none of those really work as "references". The great news is, however, that there are tons of mentions of Romero in news articles and books, so we can use those materials instead.
The article needs to be tweaked to focus less on the minutiae of business, and more about the overall significance of Romero's career; he seems quite an interesting person, as a Native American folk-rocker, businessman, founder of a Native-supporting NGO, etc. So this is definitely something we can work with, it'll just take some refining.
Here's my suggestion. Take some time to attend to personal matters, and when you're ready come to "the Teahouse" and the volunteer mentors there can help walk you through the process of finding the right sourcing, and getting everything in the right order. Don't be disappointed by the article not being ready to publish right at first, but be encouraged that we agree it's a good topic and deserves a fine-tuned, polished article, and we have folks willing to help. It turns out we don't have pages for Native Children’s Survival or Red Thunder, and both of those meet WP:Notability. I just now made the NCS page, will try RT later this week or something if I get the chance. MatthewVanitas (talk) 16:38, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Du bist hier völlig falsch. Versuche es beim Verkäufer oder bei einer Cadillac-Werkstatt. Huon (talk) 18:45, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dear creation help desk,

I updated the article above with a bunch of additional references, and it was rejected again. I'm not sure where to go from here, as this is a real movie, being produced by real people, referenced with many real sources. Am I doing something wrong?

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The Right Juice (film)

Kind regards, Chris Cgparker (talk) 20:15, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

While some of your sources, such as the newspaper articles, are indeed the reliable sources we're looking for, many others are not. For example, IMDb has too little editorial oversight to be considered reliable (in particular not for statements of opinion such as calling the film "highly amusing"). BestInPortugal is just a blog. Press releases by the film crew or by hotels sponsoring the film certainly are not reliable sources (except possibly for a short summary of the plot, which by the way currently is covered in too much detail compared to the rest of the article). Two of the "48 Hour Film" sources don't mention The Right Juice at all, and I have doubts about the third's reliability.
My suggestion would be to get rid of the dubious sources and to emphasize the best sources we have. That will probably result in a much shorter draft (although some relevant details such as the budget are in the reliable sources, but not in the current draft). It might be even better to wait until the film has been released and has received some independent reviews - right now we apparently cannot say much about the film beyond a plot summary. Hello Help Desk, I'm afraid I'm a little out of my depth here and thus need some expert advise/help. My article for creation regarding Venus Awards has been declined. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Venus_Awards. I'm not understanding what exactly I've done incorrectly and why this is the case. This is a legitimate women's! Can somebody please assist me in moving forward so I can edit it correctly and re-submit for review and publishing. Thanks so very much. • The most recent decline was for reading like an advertisement, but that's a bit harsh I feel - the only really non neutral sentence that leaps out is "The brainchild of Tara V Howard". If you rewrote that as "It was founded by Tara V Howard" there would not be an issue. My gut feeling is that although there are only a few references in local radio and media around Southampton, there is significant enough coverage, which has been sustained for the past six months, so it looks borderline notable. While the table of winners isn't really necessary for a Wikipedia article and can probably go, formatting issues are not sufficient to fail an article. Submit the article again and someone should pass it. --Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:52, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ritchie, Many thanks for your expertise. I'll make the edits, changing the 'brainchild'wording, and also removing the winners tables. Fingers crossed this time it'll be approved. Really appreciate your input. Have a great day. Regards 217.35.64.179 (talk) 09:11, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
