The death of The Notorious R.B.G. (#1) rocked the Wikipedia viewerbase. Other than that, the usual crowd of motion picture things, plus (interestingly) some association football loans and transfers. Naomi Osaka (#8) came up too, having recently won the ladies' contest in the US Open for Tennis. Canadian icon Terry Fox appeared as well, undoubtedly due to a recent Google doodle.

However, the main highlight for me was Among Us, a game which I personally haven't played but have seen/heard of heaps.

Notice that COVID-19 pandemic doesn't even feature in this list!

4	Cuties	896,477	If you're like me and not very acquainted with memes, you might instantly swoon and 'aww' over that cute bear that you see on the left. Well, I regret to inform you that this particular bear, and I found out about this literally seconds ago, is actually a symbol for paedophiles and people who like to sex over children. Relevant for this recently-released Netflix series about the sexualisation of children, which saw a US release poster that did exactly what it was advocating against (sparking a #CancelNetflix or whatever hashtag in the process).
5	Tenet (film)	795,947	This movie is apparently complex.
6	Deaths in 2020	768,735	It always eludes me as to why in the world this article of all articles seems to garner so much attention.
7	The Boys (2019 TV series)	696,038	Who are you when you don't like the superheroes who work for Vought International and decide to act against the superheroes' true selves (think conceited)? You're a member of The Boys, a vigilante group in a universe made possible on moving pictures by Eric Kripke for Prime Video. A second season remains running while a related short film recently dropped.
8	Naomi Osaka	666,797	This Japanese tennis player recently won her division of the 2020 US Open for Tennis. Also notable: Each mask she wore in the Open bore the name of African-American racial martyrs. I can't remember all of them, but I think George Floyd and Breonna Taylor are up there.
9	Mulan (2020 film)	658,195	This 2020 live-action remake of Disney's not hugely but sizably popular original animated film sparked the #CancelMulan hashtag once viewers decided they didn't like how Disney thanked regional authority organisations in China's Xinjiang province, where Uyghur Muslims are being forcibly re-educated.
10	Amy Coney Barrett	657,650	Currently a judge in a US appeals court, Amy Coney Barrett is currently seen as the apple of incumbent President Donald Trump's eye when it comes to replacing the now-empty position in the Supreme Court of the United States.
11	Terry Fox	533,143	Marry incredible competitiveness from a young age with an overwhelmingly positive/visionary mindset, and join that to the soul of a man beset by cancer and an amputated leg; I'm sure you'll get quite a few people, but nobody I know beats the passion that was found in Canadian man Terry Fox. As with (I presume) a lot of non-Canadian people my age, I learnt about The Fox from this Google Doodle that appeared a few days ago. He is best known for a colossal attempt to run his way across Canada to raise money for cancer research. For more than a hundred (perhaps consecutive) days, he ran the equivalent length of a marathon--with only one proper leg. He didn't make the trip though; after getting checked up in Northwestern Ontario, he found that his cancer had spread to his lungs. Fox soon had to be admitted to hospital, and was admitted to, if you like, heaven, in June 1981; at the age of twenty-two.
12	Shooting of Breonna Taylor	531,517	This killing of an African-American person has recently regained popularity in the wake of dissatisfaction with the severity of the indictment of a suspectedly involved police officer. That was a mouthful.
13	Ratched (TV series)	526,091	It seems that people liked psychological thrillers this week. Ratched, a newly premiered Netflix series, shares its genre with #3-ranked The Devil All the Time, and concerns a nurse--named Ratched.
14	Supreme Court of the United States	479,674	When Wikipedia describes the United States' supreme court as 'the highest court in the federal judiciary of the United States of America', you know that it's pretty important. And it is; I'm pretty sure that this is the court that usually settles the legal challenges entitled '[insert name of idiot or aspiring entity] v. United States of America'. It'll also prove a critical decision-making body if this year's US presidential election turns out to be crazy close, as it did in 2000, with Texan George Bush winning over Tennessean Al Gore via a Supreme Court ruling. But most of all, I'd say it's getting the attention from the death of one of its judges; #1-ranked Notorious R.B.G..
15	Cobra Kai	477,490	Now, I don't know much about this series but what I do know is that at least in the first episode, Johnny Lawrence seems like a recluse and Daniel LaRusso has turned into a car dealer? Well, as this YouTube Premium-gone-Netflix series suggests, a lot can happen in thirty-four years. Fun fact: the thirty-four year number wasn't randomly chosen; it was most probably found by finding the difference between the release date of this series (2018) and the release date of the original film (1984). Gee, 2018... seems like a long time ago.
16	Among Us	474,352	This social deduction game, akin to Mafia, has gotten up the popularity after enjoying an attention boom by game streamers. Played by a fair few people I know personally, with good and bad repercussions...
17	Gareth Bale	462,041	I remember managing this guy in FIFA 14. He got injured a damn lot, and he wanted out from my team. But anyway, the actual Gareth Bale has recently been loaned--loaned, not transferred, I had to learn the difference the hard way back in FIFA 14-- to Tottenham Hotspur F.C. from Real Madrid. I'm not aware of any details in the contract, but I do know it'll last for a year, unless Bale lives to the way he's represented in my FIFA 14 game.
18	QAnon	432,454	Currently considered a conspiracy theory, QAnon posits that incumbent President of the United States Donald Trump is under attack by plotters and deep-state members within the US Government. What's in a name? 4Chan, in this case--the founding documents of the theory were signed as 'Q'. 4Chan is anonymous, so hence the latter part of the QAnon name. Pictured is a QAnon patch worn by a member of SWAT, while meeting Mike Pence. He later got his ass whooped, verbally.
19	Thiago Alcântara	425,630	This twenty-nine year-old Spanish footballer has recently been transferred to Premier League-winning Liverpool F.C..
20	Raised by Wolves (American TV series)	409,286	If you previouly knew nothing about this series (me), upon seeing the title, you probably had fanciful visions of restless slumbers deep in the veiled embrace of night, punctuated always with the bewitched moans of the lupines. Nah. Actually, it's a science fiction, based on distant Kepler-22b, which is a real exoplanet. Recently renewed for a second season.
21	Joe Biden	408,728	The official challenger to Donald Trump in the 2020 United States presidential election. Former vice-president to Barack Obama.
22	Martin D. Ginsburg	397,642	An American lawyer, and, before he passed away in 2010, husband of #1-ranked Ruth Bader.
23	September 11 attacks	394,706	Oversimplified: There was hate, there was some planning, there were five crashes/booms, there were then fires and lots of debris strewn around, there was chaos, there was unity, there is unity, there is the slogan 'Never Forget' and there is now a replacement to the World Trade Center, as far as I know.
24	2020 Atlantic hurricane season	373,057	As a non-American, I have been made particularly aware of hurricanes Laura and Sally, of which made their most storied landfalls on Louisiana and Alabama respectively. This year's season has been usually active; so active, in fact, that meteorologists were forced to use the Greek alphabet for further storms as a contingency measure.
