Enthiran ([Robot] Error: {{Lang-xx}}: text has italic markup (help)), is a 2010 Indian Tamil science fiction film directed by S. Shankar and co-written by him and Sujatha Rangarajan. Produced by Kalanithi Maran, it stars Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The story revolves around a scientist's struggle to control his creation, an android, whose software is upgraded to give it the ability to comprehend and exhibit human emotions. The project backfires when the robot falls in love with the scientist's girlfriend, and is manipulated by a rival scientist into becoming homicidal. Enthiran received praise for its cinematography, art direction, visual effects and Rajinikanth's performance, and emerged as the top-earning Indian film of 2010. It is currently the second highest-grossing South Indian film of all time. It won two National Film Awards, three Filmfare Awards, seven Vijay Awards and two Screen Awards. It spawned parodies and homages to specific scenes. (Full article...)

  • We have had too many film articles this year (including three cinema articles from this part of the world) so I am unlikely to schedule this, especially so close to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. For the rest of the year, I don't plan on scheduling any film articles unless there is an anniversary and scheduling is requested. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 23:38, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
