Cleopatra VII Philopator (Ancient Greek: Κλεοπᾰ́τρᾱ Φιλοπάτωρ, romanizedKleopátrā Philopátōr; 69 – 10 or 12 August 30 BC) was the last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, nominally survived as pharaoh by her son Caesarion. As a member of the Ptolemaic dynasty, she was a descendant of its founder Ptolemy I Soter, a Macedonian Greek general and companion of Alexander the Great. After the death of Cleopatra, Egypt became a province of the Roman Empire, marking the end of the Hellenistic period that had lasted since the reign of Alexander (336–323 BC). • Reasons for nomination: I don't think Cleopatra needs much of an introduction. She's arguably the most famous queen from antiquity and her article is rated as a level-4 vital article. This main article is also part of a larger good topic, including another featured article, the Death of Cleopatra.

  • Is there any reason why there is no link the main article in the blurb? All the other proposed blurbs blurbs have one rights at the beginning.--64.229.166.98 (talk) 03:57, 12 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • That's a very good point! There is a "full article" link at the very bottom of the text, but not one at the beginning. I am now adding the link. Thanks for the suggestion! Pericles of AthensTalk 12:36, 12 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, very good work. I know how hard Pericles worked on the Cleopatra article because I have made some minor edits to the page. Векочел (talk) 20:30, 12 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
