nearly pointless in its current state since it just provides a link to the template when transcluded (check the noinclude / includeonly in the template). it should either (a) operate like a standard navbox, or (b) be removed as redundant to navigation through a category tree.   • Keep, now I've removed the noinclude tags. Not sure why someone thought it was a good idea to do that to a perfectly reasonable navbox. However, it should be purged from articles where the article is not included in the navbox per WP:BIDIRECTIONAL. Keep per proposal on Talk:Alberta_Highway_2#The_main_infobox_is_obese regarding the implementation on that page of a modified infobox on that page. I need the template to be able to test implementations on Alberta Highway 2, but I can't come forward with a proposal when I have no idea exactly what I'm proposing yet. Bottom line, any proposal for modifications would fail, because a) what I want to do is contrary to the original purpose of Road small so I do not want to modify Road small with extra syntax for potentially 6 or more extra for use a small subset articles, but it is the syntax from which I want to base my template because I am not a programmer and b) It's a work in progress and the extra parameters have not yet been nailed down. I am proposing a modification for implementation on major Alberta articles, and that frankly has nothing to do with the existing templates, nor should that discussion be anywhere other than the articles in question. If the template needs to be in my namespace while it is finalized then so be it, but I'd rather spend time on the articles than explain what I'm doing with this template when it seems pretty clear. -- Acefitt 00:53, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Realistically, we will likely go forward with some form of a differentiated infobox for subsections of Highway 2, and given that it's only for a few articles, I can achieve that without a template. My intent of not proposing a template and/or changes was to not have to involve outside editors in my half-baked work, but I see that for some reason there is interest in it as opposed to its purpose. -- Acefitt 01:06, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
