editHave any top 40 songs had just intonation?
editSagittarian Milky Way (talk) 06:01, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- Given that even a simple I-vi-ii-V progression is impossible in just intonation (the sixth C-A, assuming C major without loss of generality, needs to be 8:5 and 27:16 at the same time, and it can't be both), I strongly suspect that the answer is "no". Double sharp (talk) 06:39, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- Major sixth mentions these problems with just intonation directly, and that such an interval is usually avoided in just intonation. In equal temperament, the problem goes away. --Jayron32 13:28, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- List of compositions in just intonation also exists at Wikipedia, but a) it's pretty crappy as an article and b) it's all odd experimental music. not pop songs. Here is a list of songs using microtonals, including some just intonation, none are pop songs. It seems highly unlikely, nearly every pop song is written on either the guitar or piano initially, and both of those are tempered instruments by necessity. --Jayron32 13:34, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

Fireball Jungle
editIn the clip which can be seen on YouTube, there is a scene at a bar. The group Mercy is singing their song "Love Can Make You Happy" as the camera focuses on a dark-haired man in a white tee shirt seated at a table drinking beer and trying to make eyecontact with a blonde girl. I am curious as to who this actor is. Thank you Jeanne boleyn— Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.233.198.156 (talk) 08:15, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

List of highest grossing Indian movies
editWhenever I type "List of Highest Grossing Indian movies" in Google,I could see the "Highest Grossing Hindi Films" first. If possible it must be changed because Indian movies include the movies made from all parts of India and not only Hindi.[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by PraveenKumarMurugaiah (talk • contribs) 14:05, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

- You need to post this concern on the talk page for the list article. if, after a couple days you don't get a response then you can try the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film. MarnetteD|Talk 14:19, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- That is a problem with the Google search, not with Wikipedia. List of highest-grossing Indian films includes at least ten languages. If your Google search returns the list for Hindi films instead of that of Indian films, Wikipedia can't fix it. (The Google search link you posted gives me List of highest-grossing Indian films as the top search hit). --bonadea contributions talk 15:46, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- I can confirm that the above search link provides List of highest-grossing Indian films as the top search hit; I clicked it on an unaltered Chromebook without location services on and got that result. Knowing a bit about how the Google search algorithm works, it's possible that if you have searched a lot about specifically Hindi films in the past, or have watched many Hindi films on YouTube, that the algorithm simply returns the list of highest-grossing Hindi films in an attempt to predict what you're actually searching for based on previous individual search interest. There's also a possibility that your location is more predisposed to be interested in Hindi films, which could result in that result being given more weight if location services are turned on.Crossark (talk) 21:04, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
