hey there

a quick question here regarding one of facebook features

When you navigate over to your messages section and go to a particular user messages history it shows yourmessages archive trail plus to the left top of it it would show the associated user name and a time stamp right next to it . so the question is what does that time purport to be or relate to? is it the last time the user been online or read your sent messages to them??? Thanks!!

I think it's the time you sent it. If it is different to the time they read it, you'll see "Seen 00.00" (or whatever the time was) at the bottom of the message. --TammyMoet (talk) 18:20, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The first one on the first video is "Night of Fire" by an act called "Niko" (that's to whom Grooveshark attributes it). It's either a cover or a remix of "Night of Fire" by JPop band Dream. -- Finlay McWalterTalk 16:05, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The first one on the second video is "Mysteria" by German power metal band Edguy, from their Hellfire Club album. -- Finlay McWalterTalk 16:53, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Mysteria are on the third video, but very thanks. have found out the other song in the third video is king of fool by the same bands. --80.161.143.239 (talk) 18:01, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Current state of US men's singles tennis

edit

It's noticeable to me that there are so few Americans in the current ATP rankings, with the highest, Sam Querrey, at 19. Not that the USA has ever dominated men's singles exactly, but in the past there were great singles players like John McEnroe, Arthur Ashe, Jimmy Connors, Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi. So is US men's singles tennis currently in the doldrums, and if so why? --Viennese Waltz 13:22, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

An interesting study (from 2003) discussing the effects of various factors on a country's tennis success is here. -- Finlay McWalterTalk 15:49, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Which adaptation of Alice in Wonderland is this?

edit

I saw an adaptation of Alice in Wonderland some time in the late 1980s or early 1990s on video tape. I glanced through Films and television programmes based on Alice in Wonderland but couldn't place it there. A distinguishable characteristic was a close-up of moving lips whenever the narrator was talking, even if it was just "said Alice". I found this rather disturbing. Does anyone know what adaptation this was? JIP | Talk 18:11, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That would be Alice (1988 film) by Jan Švankmajer. It is indeed rather disturbing. Staecker (talk) 18:12, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Never saw that film, but the plot description makes me realize why I always found the original stories to be kind of creepy. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots03:15, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I watched a bit of that version, but found it so creepy I turned it off. StuRat (talk) 04:47, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I shortened your link for format reasons. I hope you don't mind. Dismas|(talk) 01:31, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It could be much shorter. —Tamfang (talk) 02:38, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
