Grading review

edit

Is it possible to submit one's article for a new [review]? Specifically: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psoralea_fascicularis

--Jeremygilmore (talk) 12:19, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Jeremygilmore, post a request on the article's talk page, but if that doesn't get attention, ask at a relevant WikiProject. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 12:27, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

how do you find out who made an edit

how do you find out who made an edit?— Preceding unsigned comment added by ‎96.225.173.19 (talk)

You may consult a page's edit history; as an example, the edit history of this very page. 331dot (talk) 15:30, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You can also use Wikipedia:WikiBlame. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 15:41, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If you're using Chrome or Firefox, you can also install the extension Who Wrote That?. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 17:20, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The page Jett Platt Music has a title as Draft: Jett Platt Music How do I remove the word "Draft:" ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by JettPlattMusic (talkcontribs) 16:44, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Doing so would be a complete waste of time, since the article would be deleted immediately. Read Help:Your first article, Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, and Wikipedia:Autobiography AndyTheGrump (talk) 16:51, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)@JettPlattMusic:  Courtesy link: Draft:Jett Platt Music The article is poorly sourced and gives no indication why the person is notable. If this is you, please read WP:COI, and also, WP:YFA. (Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four keyboard tildes like this: ~~~~. Or, you can use the [ reply ] button, which automatically signs posts.) TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 16:52, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bias

edit

I am writing due to much of the content I have come across that seems to be becoming biased. I think one has to be very careful as to what they're reading and how much weight they are placing in what they are reading. I encourage readers to further their research and not depend solely on one source.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:8080:9e07:62e8:c90c:4ce0:63e3:6570 (talk)

Wikipedia does not claim to be free of bias. Any bias in sources will be reflected in Wikipedia. The sources are presented to readers so they can evaluate and judge them for themselves as to bias. If reliable sources are not being summarized accurately, please point out those errors on the article talk page. 331dot (talk) 17:16, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Which of the 6,341,015 articles in English do you wish to address? --Orange Mike | Talk 17:17, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's not clear if the increasingly biased content you are referring to is on Wikipedia or not. You are 100% correct that "one has to be very careful as to what they're reading and how much weight they are placing in what they are reading" and that readers should further their research and not depend solely on one source. That's why Wikipedia has strong rules around sourcing, including that sources be reliable, that they be independent of the subject of the article, and that there be multiple sources for an article. Even still, Wikipedia should not be considered a acceptable source in an academic context, but rather a starting point for, as you said, furthering your research. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 17:36, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Undo an edit

edit

My son used my phone to edit some info on a musician but messed it up & all sorts of red markings on there now & my phone ip address shows up. I'm not happy with him! How do I undo the edit made an hour ago and get my ip address deleted from public view? Spacegirl58 (talk) 18:59, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Spacegirl58:, Welcome to Wikipedia! Can you please give link to the article? Lightbluerain (Talk | contribs) 19:05, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Spacegirl58: You should be able to navigate to the article's history page on your phone, find your IP's revision, and press an undo link next to it. You'll have to press a Publish changes button to confirm the reversion. To remove your IP address from public view, you're going to have to send an email to WP:OVERSIGHT. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 19:06, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cole-Parmer page and creating a new page

edit

Hello:

We updated the Cole-Parmer information, but it looks to be deleted. We also wanted to add an Antylia Scientific page but that was deleted. Now it looks as though the Cole-Parmer page will be removed but has been there for a long time. Can you please help me understand why this is happening? And, what do I need to do to make changes and build a new page. Our company has had a name change and this information is no longer valid. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KADanko (talkcontribs)

It hasn't received much independent notice, per WP:COMPANY, so it is very likely to get deleted at some point. Clarityfiend (talk) 20:32, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The article Cole-Parmer is likely to be deleted, as it provides no evidence, in the form of citations of reliable independent published sources with extensive discussion of it, that Cole-Parmer is notable enough to warrant a Wikipedia article. When you write "our company", what company are you referring to? Maproom (talk) 23:19, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also, who is "we"? Per Wikipedia account policy, each account must belong to a single, physical person. Role accounts that are shared between multiple people are forbidden. JIP | Talk 04:30, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
