don't know if there's a simpler question

from using the stuff to Template: Graphic novel list. Is there an example where a book that hasn't gotten an official English title (isn't licensed in English, but is available in another language) for the chapters within a book to have the original language's in the ChapterList but has left out the English titles? How to change 12-year old photos on my article to recent ones.

Hello, I would like to change the 12-year old photos on my article to recent ones. I recently asked a friend who did that for me but a few days later someone else had put the old ones back. How can I put the recent ones back and delete the ancient ones? Hi 82.249.183.71. Unfortunately the pictures that were uploaded were deleted as copyright violations. If you or your friend took the pictures, you can license them under a compatible license for use on Wikipedia. Note that we cannot use images not licensed under a free license except under very specific circumstances. Problems with Wikimedia software and uploading certain SVG images

I have been tearing my hair out trying to get a Draw.io ( http://www.draw.io/ ) SVG image, which I created yesterday, to upload to Wikipedia / Wikimedia. When I try to upload the file, I get a "This SVG file contains an illegal namespace "http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"." . When I edit the SVG XML with a text editor to get rid of the references to "1999" and change them to "2000", the upload again fails complaining that the SVG file is corrupt.

As a stop-gap measure, I've had to convert the SVG file into a PNG, which is a kludge and looks ugly. It can be found here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:HP_Saturn_CPU_register_fields.png . It's used in the HP Saturn CPU article which I edited and to which I added the image.

Any help would be appreciated.

@Arch dude: Thanks for the reply! :) I had loaded it into Inkscape but Inkscape didn't complain. I saved the file but the upload process still failed on that namespace error. Just now, I used nano from a Linux command line to edit the SVG file and just remove the references to the namespaces, which seems to have fixed the problem as I've been able to upload the SVG file successfully :D Jdbtwo (talk) 17:14, 28 April 2019 (UTC)

Hello, IP user. I'm not sure which article you are talking about: both USS Cole and USS Cole Bombing name the attackers, as you would expect in an encyclopaedia article; but I do not see a list of the crewmen who lost their lives. If you think an article can be improved, you are welcome to suggest changes on the article's talk page. But be aware that Wikipedia is not censored and will not omit information just because some people find it disturbing or unwelcome. --ColinFine (talk) 19:01, 28 April 2019 (UTC)

Coloring Signatures

I'm not sure if I asked in the right spot but I followed the steps on WP:Customisation about adding the colors to a certain page. I did so yet the edits did nothing... So how do I customize my signature with colors properly? James-the-Charizard (talk) 17:33, 28 April 2019 (UTC)

@James-the-Charizard: Replace Your username with James-the-Charizard in User:James-the-Charizard/common.css. This setting only affects how you see the signature. Do you also want others to see it with color? PrimeHunter (talk) 17:51, 28 April 2019 (UTC)

john gotti's female friends

wasnt there a girl that used to be wih gotti back in the mid 80's, believe her name was Ruth Hazen or Schwann , and she lived in MA? Saw a photo of her recently and it has to be the same person. While she may not have been in a specific relationship, she was visable alot back then. why dont these articles ever mention all of them? A more specified random article functionality

I like the idea of a random Wikipedia article being shown to me every time I launch my web browser but there are a lot of articles that I am just not interested in. Is there a way I can specify which categories the random articles come from such as science or health? Paragraph in "History of Cameroon" needs splitting, but I'm not sure where

Here's the paragraph in question, in the section "Towards independence" (footnotes removed):

"Legislative elections were held on 23 December 1956 and the resulting Assembly passed a decree on 16 April 1957 which made French Cameroon a State. It took back its former status of associated territory as a member of the French Union. Its inhabitants became Cameroonian citizens, Cameroonian institutions were created under the sign of parliamentary democracy. On 12 June 1958, the Legislative Assembly of French Cameroon asked the French government to: 'Accord independence to the State of Cameroon at the ends of their trusteeship. Transfer every competence related to the running of internal affairs of Cameroon to Cameroonians`. On 19 October 1958, France recognized the right of her United Nations trust territory of the Cameroons to choose independence. On 24 October 1958, the Legislative Assembly of French Cameroon solemnly proclaimed the desire of Cameroonians to see their country accede full independence on 1 January 1960. It enjoined the government of French Cameroon to ask France to inform the General Assembly of the United Nations, to abrogate the trusteeship accord concomitant with the independence of French Cameroon. On 12 November 1958, having accorded French Cameroon total internal autonomy and thinking that this transfer no longer permitted it to assume its responsibilities over the trust territory for an unspecified period, the government of France asked the United Nations to grant the wish of French Cameroonians. On 5 December 1958, the United Nations’ General Assembly took note of the French government’s declaration according to which French Cameroon, which was under French administration, would gain independence on 1 January 1960, thus marking an end to the trusteeship period. On 13 March 1959, the United Nations’ General Assembly resolved that the UN Trusteeship Agreement with France for French Cameroon would end when French Cameroon became independent on 1 January 1961."

Name hatnote

Felipe Ovono once used Template:Spanish name but currently the hatnote is custom text to explain Equatorial Guinea conventions. I checked in Category:Hatnote templates for names and there isn't one there. WP:WikiProject Equatorial Guinea looks inactive. Any ideas on where to ask for a language expert that can create this (the existing text shouldn't be used as is because it refers directly to the specific indivdual) MB 19:43, 28 April 2019 (UTC)

Paisley Abbey history

It looked like someone was trying to split the following paragraph from the article Paisley Abbey, section "History", but didn't double-space, so I did so (footnotes removed, split shown):

"In 1163, Walter fitz Alan, the first High Steward of Scotland issued a charter for a priory to be set up on land owned by him in Paisley. It was dedicated to SS. Mary, James, Mirin and Milburga. Around 13 monks came from the Cluniac priory at Much Wenlock in Shropshire to found the community. Paisley grew so rapidly that it was raised to the status of abbey in 1245. Monks from Paisley founded Crossraguel Abbey in Carrick, Ayrshire, in 1244.

In 1307, Edward I of England had the abbey burned down. However, it was rebuilt later in the 14th century. William Wallace, born in nearby Elderslie, is widely believed to have been educated for some time when he was a boy in the abbey."

Also, should the sentence on William Wallace be in the previous paragraph, or at least before the part about Edward I, since Wallace died two years before 1307?

One other thing, I changed the original header paragraph from this:

"Paisley Abbey origins date from the 12th century based on a former Cluniac monastery. Following the Reformation in the 16th century the abbey continues to be a Church of Scotland parish kirk. It is located on the east bank of the White Cart Water in the centre of the town of Paisley, Renfrewshire, about 12 miles (19 km) west of Glasgow, in Scotland."

...to this:

"Paisley Abbey is a parish church of the Church of Scotland, located on the east bank of the White Cart Water in the centre of the town of Paisley, Renfrewshire, about 12 miles (19 km) west of Glasgow, in Scotland. Its origins date from the 12th century based on a former Cluniac monastery. Following the Reformation in the 16th century, it became a Church of Scotland parish kirk."
