Disclaimer edit

Somehow I doubt the changes I make to any entries are particularly controversial ('cause I try to be dispassionately informative...but let's be honest, there is always potential for drama on the internets), but here's where you go to complain if you think I'm wrong wrong wrong.

February 2008 edit

Hello, Thank you for bringing my attention to the misuse. It is for sure no intentionally. Would it be ok if i add links under external links?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aliaahussein (talkcontribs) 14:17, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia does not allow promotional material per se to be placed anywhere on Wikipedia itself. However, if an article exists specific to travel in Egypt and you feel your website represents an important facet of the article topic, the addition of a factual, unbiased description of your service may not be considered entirely out of place.
I suspect, however, that this would be far too risky ground to tread on because the line between product description and outright advertisement is not a very clear one. I would recommend you try to contribute to Wikipedia in other ways, such as helping expand articles about Egypt or other topics that interest you, helping to patrol for vandalism, or joining one of the many WikiProjects that need more editors.
You may find it helpful to take a look at the Wikipedia welcome page, which provides lots of information for editors who are just getting started. I will also post this response on your own talk page so if you wish to respond or ask further questions you can do so in either location. Thank you for your interest in Wikipedia! - Zhukora (talk) 00:42, 29 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of "Koshari" edit

A page you created, Koshari, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a band or other musical group, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for musical groups in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. Fieldday-sunday (talk) 16:27, 11 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Was this misdirected? I did not create any article about a music group; I may have created a redirect page for the food item kushari, which may have been changed after the fact. I'll look into this. Zhukora (talk) 09:13, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Scott family.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Scott family.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:02, 3 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Optigan13 (talk) 06:02, 3 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

DV Scotty photos edit

I hope you're able to add some copyright info to these nice photos you've uploaded. It would be a shame to lose them.

If these photos are in copyright (or if you aren't sure), you could license them for WP:Fair Use. I'd be happy to help. Thanks, Pete Tillman (talk) 03:59, 4 September 2009 (UTC), another old DV desert ratReply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File source problem with File:Mat Roy Thompson.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Mat Roy Thompson.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Wikiacc () 16:55, 19 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
