You are mixing both. Bronze Medalist is not a politician. This is the politician link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farid_Khan_%28politician%29

Bronze Medalist is a journalist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farid_Khan_%28journalist%29

Why delete it? What's wrong with it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ZeeshanRehman1 (talkcontribs) 20:57, 9 June 2013‎ (UTC)Reply

You were told above that you must NOT remove the AFD tag from the article until the discussion is closed; I have therefore reverted your edit. - David Biddulph (talk) 11:37, 11 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Farid 'Bronze Medalist' Khan. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Farid Khan (journalist). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Farid Khan (journalist) – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. David Biddulph (talk) 11:57, 11 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Farid Khan (journalist). Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:08, 11 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. The next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, as you did at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Farid Khan (journalist), you may be blocked from editing without further notice. - David Biddulph (talk) 17:56, 11 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

What is notable

edit

Posting updates about sports events in a sports forum such as PakPassion.net, where anyone who chooses to create an account can post, hardly makes one a notable journalist. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 11:32, 12 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your moves and changing of content

edit

Hey there, no idea what you were trying to do, but you moved Farid Khan (Journalist) to Marcelo Lopez (Journalist), changed content of Khan to be that of a tennis player, then you erased Marcelo to become what appeared to be an un-noteworthy subject. This is a big mess, this was the wrong approach altogether. You should have just created two new articles Marcelo Lopez (Journalist) and Farid Khan (tennis player). Does that make sense? — MusikAnimal talk 15:34, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

You have moved Farid Khan (politician) to Farid Khan (journalist). That Farid Khan is a tennis player and a sports journalist. The politician is a separate one. Please don't re-direct it.

Start a talk page discussion first! Again you're going about this the wrong way. The tennis player should be a new article, as should Marcelo Lopez (Journalist). You essentially removed the original sourced content of Farid Khan (Journalist). — MusikAnimal talk 15:38, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
We also have to retain history for copyright reasons, which is yet another reason why not to move articles and redo them as a new subject. Do you understand now? — MusikAnimal talk 15:39, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

This man is a sports journo and tennis player: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farid_Khan_%28Tennis_Player_and_Sports_Journalist%29

Please delete Farid Khan (journalist) and Farid Khan (Journalist). They are the same as Farid Khan (Tennis Player and Sports Journalist). And please don't redirect Farid Khan (politician). He is a separate man.

That's fine, but again you're losing the history of Farid Khan (Journalist), which must be retained for copyright reasons. So change that page accordingly, do not create a new one. Do you get it now? — MusikAnimal talk 15:46, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Kindly do it for me. I am unable to understand it.

Please delete these pages: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farid_Khan_%28Journalist%29 and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farid_Khan_%28journalist%29 The content in it is regarding a politician and not journalist. Please delete them.

Hi Zeeshan. Please hold tight untill I got this properly fixed. I'll be done in a maximum of 10 minutes, but if you edit pages in the mean time, things will be messed up. Please don't do that, and I'll let you know when everything is alright. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 15:52, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I was editing this page. This is the only page which is true and is fit with title. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farid_Khan_%28Tennis_Player_and_Sports_Journalist%29 I added content in it. Rest should be deleted.

The politician is apparently a different person, which is currently at Farid Khan (Journalist), it's history needs to be merged with Farid Khan (politician), it's content is sourced, it should not be deleted without proper proposal. — MusikAnimal talk 16:00, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Please, don't edit until I say we're good. This is quite a bit of cleanup I have to do, so sit tight. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 16:01, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Okay, done. All I want you to do is to remove the content of politician from both Journalist and journalist pages as it looks ugly. This page is fine: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farid_Khan_%28Tennis_Player_and_Sports_Journalist%29

Yes, we'll leave that page as is, we just need to fix the pages about the politician. The history has to be retained and it can't be deleted without proposal, it well sourced. — MusikAnimal talk 16:09, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Okay, sorry for bothering you. I messed it up. Let's see how to rectify it.

Why has a deleted tag been added to that page? It should not be deleted as Farid Khan is now more renowned and has taken many more interviews and published in the USA even.

really, stop touching stuff for now, until I get back to you. If you keep making edits to any of these pages before I come back to you and explain things to you, I will block your account until I'm done. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 16:20, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) Whether or not he has taken more interviews, the article seems to indicate that his one lucky interview (with someone who appears to be related perhaps?) has been picked up by more outlets. The notability of this individual has not changed since the first AFD. If you disagree, you are free to contest the deletion and allow a reviewing admin to decide. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:21, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

First of all, Farid Khan is very famous in Pakistan. Secondly, he takes interviews of only top athletes. Thirdly, Aqeel Khan is not his relative, but Pakistan No. 1 ranked tennis player. And even if he was his relative, is he not allowed to take his interview being a top journo? Why did you delete his page? Please, bring it back! He has taken more interviews and attends a lot of high-profile media meetings.

Speedy deletion nomination of Farid Khan (Tennis Player and Sports Journalist)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Farid Khan (Tennis Player and Sports Journalist), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. page moves and deletions

edit

Ok, all history and deletions are sorted out. So, let me explain what happened here. Wikipedia articles also have a history section. When you move a page, the history section moves along with it. Cutting and pasting content breaks the history, so that should never be done. I split the history of the article(s), and moved them to their proper locations. Then there is the article on the tennis player/journalist. That was deleted in this discussion. If you would like to re-create it, you should discuss it first at deletion review, and not just start it up again. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. It's better to be safe than sorry. If you want to get help, you can ask for it, using the {{help me}} template. If you ask a question here on your talk page, and put this template over it, it will summon a helper here that will explain things to you. Thanks, and happy editing! Hi Zeeshan. I deleted it because that was the outcome of the discussion I linked above. In case you missed it it's at [[Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Farid_Khan_(journalist). If you want to discuss the closing of the deletion, the venue is WP:DRV. Recreating it is grounds for speedy deletion. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 21:20, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
