Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, ZahraHeidari2. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Ehsan Roohi, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Photo sources

edit

Hi Zahra, can I get an answer to the question of where you're getting photos of Roohi meeting other engineers and having meals in restaurants from? Did you take the photos yourself, are they from Roohi's social media streams, or something else? Thanks. Belbury (talk) 17:48, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I got them from his Instagram photos. ZahraHeidari2 (talk) 18:17, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Okay, you need to update the summary boxes on those files, then, you're claiming them all to be your own work.
Has Roohi explicitly released the photos under a CC-BY licence (or public domain, or similar)? Belbury (talk) 18:24, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
OK. I will do so. Yes ZahraHeidari2 (talk) 18:40, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
For the benefit of any third parties who might otherwise reuse these images under the current, misstated licence, I've gone ahead and batch updated the files to say that they are from "Ehsan Roohi's Instagram" rather than being the own work of Commons user ZahraHeidari, and added a template to them to show that they are at present lacking evidence of Roohi's permission.
Your Commons talk page now has a notice with some guidance about how to confirm that Roohi has freely licenced these images. Let me know if you have any questions. Belbury (talk) 21:06, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
I got necessary permissions and send the request from my email to the Permissions - Wikimedia Commons. Please remove the tag from the figures and do not delete them. Thanks ZahraHeidari2 (talk) 21:52, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. The same goes for the graph images, book covers and animations that you have uploaded to Commons - that they are taken directly from publications that Roohi has worked on, and are not your own work. They need some evidence of having been released under a CC-Attribution licence by Roohi and/or his coauthors. Belbury (talk) 15:44, 3 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
I also got permission for them, so everything published in the page has necessary permission. ZahraHeidari2 (talk) 15:51, 3 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, that was foresighted of you. Please do update the Commons pages to credit the sources that you took them from instead of yourself as "own work", though, if you are not Ehsan Roohi. Belbury (talk) 16:05, 3 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
I update them and wrote Ehsan Roohi's papers are the source of these files, I did so for figures, but I could not edit the videos to mention that they are from Roohi's paper, please do so. ZahraHeidari2 (talk) 16:47, 3 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sorry but I don't know which papers you took the content from. You can click through to any file page and click "Edit" at the top to edit it. Credit all authors and give a link to the paper if possible. Belbury (talk) 17:07, 3 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your task deleting the article I wrote about Ehsan Roohi is very stupid! Why do you prevent the free data from being spread? It is not acceptable. I am really sorry for Wikipedia by preventing the data about famous people to be spread. AliLotfian3 (talk) 16:38, 4 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
