  Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Gamowebbed (talk) 13:35, 18 February 2023 (UTC)

Will do sorry about that DiSantis19 (talk) 03:49, 19 February 2023 (UTC)

DiSantis19, need advice

You and someone else keeps removing "Jeff Clemmons" from the notable alumni spot on the Reinhardt University page. That individual has written two books and a screenplay and been nominated for an Emmy Award. He was listed on that page for years and years - and was cited by a press release from the university; now someone is saying he has to have a separate page created for him before he can be listed. I want to see in the rules where it says that. 23.31.129.3 (talk) 16:41, 7 March 2023 (UTC)

Jeff Clemmons does not have a wikipedia page therefore he cannot appear in the notable alumni section of the page. DiSantis19 (talk) 14:07, 22 March 2023 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Austrian Space Agency logo.svg

Thanks for uploading File:Austrian Space Agency logo.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:04, 26 March 2023 (UTC)

Please add references to your edits

I notice you've been making a lot of edits to List of Under Armour sponsorships, but none of the edits seem to include references. Please add references per the WP:Verifiability policy to this article. Thanks, Bahooka (talk) 19:09, 27 March 2023 (UTC)

March 2023

  Please do not add or change content, as you did at List of Under Armour sponsorships, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Bahooka (talk) 22:25, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

Linking articles

Hello there Please stop adding links to common words, names of well-known countries etc. Please read WP:OL. Happy to discuss. Aemilius Adolphin (talk) 23:01, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

Hi there, I looked over the edits I made and I have two points I want to make. First, i'm assuming you meant MOS:OL and not WP:OL. Second, I do agree that some of the links I added were overlinking. I wasn't too familiar with some of the finer rules of WP:OL and for that I apologize. However, I think that some of the links you removed from the article were fine. In Fact, I believe you may have violated MOS:UNDERLINK by removing the links for pen name, polemicist, antisemitism, and Gestapo. I also think that the links for communism and collaboration with the Axis powers are fine but I am not 100% sure. DiSantis19 (talk) 00:13, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

Deletion

G'day. I see when you deleted the Josef Zwernemann here, you made reference in the edit summary to Talk:List of Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross recipients (X–Z). Neither there nor on Talk:List of Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross recipients (X–Z)/Archive 1 can I see any discussion about the deletion of this article. Deletion of an article with extensive footnoting (93 in fact) and reliable sources is likely to be disputed, and I see no reference to an WP:AFD. Why exactly did you delete this article, and why was no AFD undertaken? Thanks, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 05:34, 27 April 2023 (UTC)

The problem

We rely on published information (or we try to, anyway).

I'm sure you're telling the truth, but if we accepted "trust me, I know her personally, I have no reason to lie, I promise!" as a source, well... people would abuse that. Because humans are terrible.

Imagine multiple people contradicting each other on "I knew the deceased personally, and I promise they held Political Opinion X and had ancestors of Ethnicity Y." DS (talk) 19:21, 14 May 2023 (UTC)

Yea that makes total sense when you put it like that. People would abuse that in a second. DiSantis19 (talk) 19:42, 14 May 2023 (UTC)

May 2023

  Please do not add or change content, as you did at Fani Willis, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Please do not add material to a BLP that is not reliably sourced, and do not repeatedly remove existing reliable sources. It doesn't matter whether you're an intern or not, you still need a reliable, independent, secondary source. Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 15:30, 14 May 2023 (UTC)

Please see WP:VERIFY and WP:BLPPRIMARY. Thanks, Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 15:38, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
Also see WP:COI and be sure you make the required disclosure on your userpage. DMacks (talk) 16:41, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
Will do. Are the instructions on how to do that in WP:COI? DiSantis19 (talk) 19:43, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
Oh also since yall are here I found an article that some guy has made as a personal advertisement about himself but I don't know what I should do. The page is Milton Bearden. Like the guy has editing that article for over ten years and like he's gotten away with it because it's not a popular page. DiSantis19 (talk) 19:51, 14 May 2023 (UTC)

List of people of Union City, New Jersey

Hi. Please do not add uncited content to articles, as you did with this edit to ist of people of Union City, New Jersey. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here.

You've already been warned about this on this talk page on multiple occasions. Please adhere to this site's policies and guidelines.

If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 18:44, 1 July 2023 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Emanuela Orlandi Poster.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Emanuela Orlandi Poster.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 01:35, 6 August 2023 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for November 24

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Cambodian Americans, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page New York. Re. Kiev vs. Kyiv

I saw your edits at Babi Yar. In the future, please be more careful when editing en masse. Although your edits in the article body are understandable per WP:KIEV, you also changed the spelling in the categories and modern sources cited in the article. These are not to be changed. Doing so distorts the source material, as well as potentially breaks the linking. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 18:22, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Please note that some of your recent edits are also covered under the "All living or recently deceased subjects of biographical content on Wikipedia articles" contentious topic. — Newslinger talk 01:47, 8 March 2024 (UTC)

URL Template

Please note that according to the documentation on the URL template, the text display (i.e. the second parameter) is deprecated and should no longer be used. If you're trying to shorten URLs to fit, just drop the www. as that is not part of the domain and is an unnecessary archaic throwback to the early days of the web last century.
