Let's assume for the moment that WikiuserUK is the same person as Broadbandchoices1 (not actually certain - two people can be interested in the same topic). That account was blocked for a username violation which means creating a new account is both appropriate and recommended. I fail to see how a block was justified. Close watching to make sure promotional edits don't happen, sure, but not a block. As such, I am unblocking. --ThaddeusB (talk) 14:35, 12 March 2015 (UTC)

@ThaddeusB: Actually User:Broadbandchoices1 was blocked using a {{spamublock}} template, not a {{uw-softerblock}} - you will note, if you check the block settings for that account, that account creation is actually switched off (this account was created on a new IP). The block covers both the inappropriate username and the promotional editing, which has not been addressed at all by this user. I would suggest that you reconsider this unblock, at least until the issues raised on the previous account are dealt with. Yunshui ^雲_水 14:41, 12 March 2015 (UTC)

I would argue the first block was unnecessarily harsh - the actual article they created was barely spammy at all. Even so, to be unblocked, the most that account would have to do is logon, request a username change and agree not to edit the article in question in mainspace. That more or less has been agreed to implicitly here. (I have already been talking with this user on WP:REFUND for a day now.)

It is not at all uncommon for two SPAs to be different people and interested in the same subject, so I'm not convinced they are the same person here. Regardless, I am taking responsibility for monitoring this account and making sure it edits appropriately. I will reblock quickly if needed.

Thank you ThaddeusB (talk) I have looked at the draft broadbandchoices page and I still cannot see why it was initially deleted, all the info on the page is 100% accurate and true and there is no obvious inappropriate advertising. Anyhow I will get someone in the office to review and update the content soon and submit for review. thanks!
