Proposed deletion of Sanjay Poonen

edit

The article Sanjay Poonen has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Speedy deletion nomination of Sanjay Poonen

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sanjay Poonen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Help me!

Please help me with...

What do I need to do to ensure the Wikipedia page I created under "Sanjay Poonen" is valid, and not a candidate for "speedy deletion"? There are several credible and cited sources of news and relevance about this person who is a prominent executive in the Silicon Valley

Whisperwire (talk) 08:28, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Has someone told you the article is at risk of speedy deletion? Quickly looking at it I don't see any immediate, obvious issues that warrant speedy deletion. I do see some minor issues but the sources seem to be OK at a quick glance. As long as the sources show how this person meets the notability guidelines, the article can remain. 331dot (talk) 08:32, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
You had asked for help, and now seem to be disregarding it and the other comments here. Please heed the advice being given to you. 331dot (talk) 09:26, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Sanjay Poonen, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so!   Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Sanjay Poonen, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 09:14, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please stop continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Sanjay Poonen, without resolving the problem that the template refers to. This may be considered disruptive editing. Further edits of this type may result in your account being blocked from editing. Melcous (talk) 09:22, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Stop adding self-promotion to Sanjay Poonen. Sources like Facebook and Linked In are not acceptable, and wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a social network. Continuing to add this kind of content without engaging with other editors can lead to you being banned from editing. Melcous (talk) 10:28, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppet investigation

edit

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Whisperwire, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community. Melcous (talk) 10:41, 2 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
