Speedy deletion nomination of Syed Abul Mansur Habibullah edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Syed Abul Mansur Habibullah requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://prabook.com/web/syed_abul_mansur.habibullah/1835974. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Owlf 📪 07:43, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Victory comrade, Owlf, TheresNoTime, and Justlettersandnumbers: As an "Administrator" on the English language Wikipedia, I am able to view deleted versions of articles. In this case, it would appear that the "prabook.com" page itself was and remains a copyright violation of a deleted version of this English language Wikipedia article. The subject of the article, in my opinion as an editor and not as administrator, might appear to pass any number of tests for "notabibility" or other {{ - Please see his Banglapedia article here Peter in Australia aka Shirt58 (talk) 10:34, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Shirt58: Before tagging for the deletion i see that the biography pass the notability but the fact is that wikipedia doesn't accept copyvivo. And while i was patrolling new pages i saw and i found that it matches 95% of the content and according to the copyright guidelines i tagged it for deletion. But we can start fresh from draft than submit it via afc. I'll give a try if you're okay as it basically pass notability. Owlf 📪 10:43, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Shirt58! Yes, I did realise that; as I said in my deletion log summary, the page was a repost of a page presumptively (and in my opinion, properly) deleted under Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/20100917. No objection of any kind if someone wants to start a new page on this person, of course; not at all sure that banglapedia is a WP:RS, though. Just for the record, Shirt58, I'd initiated the SPI (result below) when I wrote this, but didn't want to jump the gun by mentioning it. Turns out the page was also eligible for deletion under WP:G5. As before, no objection of any kind if someone wants to start a new page on this person. Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:05, 8 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
