Image tagging for Image:Yoldiasea.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Yoldiasea.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Netvouz edit

The article Netvouz has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Femto 15:20, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Markgraf-Ludwig-Wilhelm-von_Baden-Stich.jpeg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Markgraf-Ludwig-Wilhelm-von_Baden-Stich.jpeg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:59, 15 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. OsamaK 10:59, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have removed the tag, this is clearly PD. Could you please confirm on the image page who took the photo, (not that it will effect its copyright) along with where the engraving is, how old it is and who made it, if any of these are known. Thanks a lot. J Milburn 22:42, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:New Caledonia in Darien.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:New Caledonia in Darien.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Your recent edits to Beta C-Mag edit

Recently you edited a sentence in the article Beta C-Mag concerning information I have been trying to get sourced, relating to the C-Mag possibly contributing to the deaths of Americans in combat. I was hoping you could list the source you used as a basis for your edit. Thanks. - Jirt 01:21, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I didn't write that bit. I looked it up now and I found this: [1]. But I don't think it's really reliable, and maybe, the part about causing death should be removed. All equipment fails at some time, sometimes with consequences.--Victor falk 03:51, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Copied from my talk page:

Is it possible to have a look at the AfD log of the Joseph McNamara article, or even better, to see an archived version of it before its deletion? Thank you.--Victor falk 17:59, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi :-) I'm not sure exactly what you want to know...But since Soldier (Party) was a keep and it is not being deleted, I think you are asking about the Joseph McNamra article I deleted. It was a speedy delete (so there is no Afd log) about a living person...a different McNamara from the one mentioned in the Soldier (Party) article. Hope this answers your question. FloNight 18:46, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes it does. I wanted more information on McNamara, but since its another individual now I know there wasn't any in this article. Thx again.--Victor falk 18:51, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

3RR at Apartheid wall edit

Hi Victor, You inadvertently violated WP:3RR on Apartheid wall, so I suggest you self revert. As for redirecting the others, they don't discuss the apartheid analogy. In my mind the ideal would be a redirect to Israeli West Bank barrier#"Apartheid" opinions, but that would be pointless. TewfikTalk 04:58, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • It should be Discrimination in Israel and Segregation in the West Bank, not both "segregation." There is no policy of segregation in Israel. Israel no longer occupies the Gaza strip, so including allegations of segregation there is pointless and misleading. historical at best.
  • Half of these pages shouldn't be devoted to rhetoric. These pages are meant to expose discrimination/racism, not to talk about the words people use.--Urthogie 16:02, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
    • I couldn't agree more. I think that "segregation" is a better description than "discrimination", it is the same vein as "racial segregation in the US", "gender segregation in islam", etc, as the subject is more about groups than individuals. --Victor falk 16:09, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading images/media such as Image:Darwin sexual caricature.gif to Wikipedia! Tourist segregation edit

Hi Victor falk. You are off to such a great start on the article Tourist segregation that it may qualify to appear on Wikipedia's Main Page under the Did you know... section. The Main Page gets about 4,000,000 hits per day and appearing on the Main Page may help bring publicity and assistance to the article. However, there is a five day from article creation window for Did you know... nominations. Before five days pass from the date the article was created and if you haven't already done so, please consider nominating the article to appear on the Main Page by posting a nomination at Did you know suggestions. If you do nominate the article for DYK, please cross out the article name on the "Good" articles proposed by bot list. Also, don't forget to keep checking back at Did you know suggestions for comments regarding your nomination. Again, great job on the article. -- Jreferee (Talk) 17:41, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Commercial use of Image:640px-Pyongyang.jpg edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:640px-Pyongyang.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:640px-Pyongyang.jpg has a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission, which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[2][3]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:640px-Pyongyang.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 20:47, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Allegations of Puerto Rican apartheid edit

Thank you for your interest and help keep an eye on this article, Cerejota is already removing content without consensus, and yet he said he wouldn't mind creation of articles that people oppose on nationalistic grounds, the irony! All of the article is sourced, even if every source doesn't mention apartheid it's directly related to the ideas behind apartheid, the socio economic conditions that cause apartheid, the background. slander? edit

I think it is slander to call any of these countries apartheid. However, it is not me, but the sources, that make these claims. It is not our job to say if they are true or false. If you want everyone to stop slamming their heads against the wall, then perhaps you should join the centralized discussion and suggest that maybe we shouldn't have allegations articles in the first place. Fair use rationale for Image:Flag of Islamic State of Iraq.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Flag of Islamic State of Iraq.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. east.718 at 03:14, 11/3/2007 03:14, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Duplicate images uploaded edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Oedipus and the Sphinx.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Oedipus and the Sphinx .jpg. The copy called Image:Oedipus and the Sphinx .jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

Fair use rationale for Image:Masque of the Red Death (screenshot).jpg edit

Image:Masque of the Red Death (screenshot).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Masque of the Red Death (screenshot).jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Masque of the Red Death (screenshot).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 11:04, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Flag of Islamic State of Iraq.JPG) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Flag of Islamic State of Iraq.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:24, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
