Speedy deletion nomination of Van Taylor Production

edit

A tag has been placed on Van Taylor Production requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. - 2 ... says you, says me 01:37, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your article problems

edit

Hello Vantaylor. I saw your query at the AfC help board. I'm answering you here, as you are more likely to see it and because you don't currently have a draft at AfC. The reasons why your attempts to create articles about yourself and your production company have been repeatedly deleted is that they are (1) copy+pastes from your website and therefore copyright violations, (2) purely promotional—Wikipedia is not the place to advertise yourself, and (3) lacking any independent sourcing that shows that they meet the criteria for inclusion, what Wikipedia calls "notability". An encyclopedia article is not an alternative website for its subject, and writing an autobiography is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the criteria for inclusion at WP:MUSICBIO and read the guidance at WP:Autobiography. I realize that this must be discouraging for you, but it's best to be realistic. And, whatever you do, do not try to hire someone to write the article when there simply isn't enough coverage to qualify. You would be wasting your money. Equally importantly, paid editing is very strongly discouraged here, and whoever you hired would have to state on Wikipedia who paid them to write the article. One thing you could do is request a volunteer editor to write the article at Wikipedia:Requested articles/music/Performers, bands and songwriters, providing at least one independent source, but preferably two or three . If an editor finds the sources suitable, they might create an article. But the problem is the sourcing, so it may never happen. I'm sorry I can't give you better news, but I hope this helps you to understand the problem better. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 12:52, 9 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
