Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:David August

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:David August, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. You appear to be engaged in paid editing for your clients. Please explain the "work directly with artist and manager" comment here. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 23:08, 4 September 2020 (UTC) ThatMontrealIP (talk) 23:08, 4 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

You wrote on my talk page (the discussion belongs here, where it began) that you are a "logistics operator" for the article subject. This sounds like you are an employee indirectly of the artist, and paid editing rules and disclosure would apply. At minimum you have a conflict of interest and can no longer directly edit the published articles. You can request talk page changes ont he article talk pages. Editing drafts is OK, as they are not yet published. If you reply please reply here. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 23:37, 4 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
I understand what you mean and how it could be a conflict of interest if I worked for the artist but I am not employed by the artist (or his entourage) and I don't have a direct link to him / them? I guess what I am trying to say is that I was not asked to edit / expand the existing article, nor I asked them if I could do it for any interest or else. Also, all the information cited are objective and fully referenced independently. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Unabibi (talkcontribs)
Make up your mind: you first said you "work directly with artist and manager" and now you are saying you "don't have a direct link to him / them". You clearly have a COI and are editing on behalf of the artists. You need to follow WP:PAID and WP:COI.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 00:59, 5 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

I told the artist about editing the page because I thought it would be fair to tell him and he was happy about it which made me think I wrote corrected acts that are all referenced by the way. I didn't realise that someone would pick it apart based on a random explanation rather than checking the actual references. That's what makes an academic article valid, but I guess it's different on here :/ I will just leave it - definitely was not thinking that writing about an artist I enjoy listening to would lead to this much time wasted saying I don't get paid to write (I really wish I did lol) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.64.125.228 (talk) 02:29, 5 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
