Speedy deletion nomination of Tyler Barnett

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tyler Barnett requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. December 2011

  Please do not write an article about yourself, as you did at Tyler Barnett. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Proposed deletion of Tyler Barnett

edit

The article Tyler Barnett has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Dubious notability. Article is an autobiography and seems to be very promotional of the subject.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Safiel (talk) 04:50, 23 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Keep I think this should be kept because <According the biography guidelines "A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject." Citation number two is a nomination of the subject as Top 25 Young Entrepreneurs by BusinessWeek, a very reputable secondary source that is independent with significant coverage.>

Please help me! My page was taken down and it was perfectly cited. As you said, I am a public figure and have received significant coverage. Deb has judged me and wrongfully taken my page down. Thank you.

Speedy deletion nomination of Tyler Barnett PR

edit

Hello Tylerbarnett,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Tyler Barnett PR for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Xanthomelanoussprog (talk) 07:38, 22 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Just follow the steps 1, 2 and 3 as shown and fill in the details

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. Remember that when adding content about health, please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations (There are several kinds of sources that discuss health: here is how the community classifies them and uses them). WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a built-in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN.

  1. While editing any article or a wikipage, on the top of the edit window you will see a toolbar which says "cite" click on it
  2. Then click on "templates",
  3. Choose the most appropriate template and fill in the details beside a magnifying glass followed by clicking said button,
  4. If the article is available in Pubmed Central, you have to add the pmc parameter manually -- click on "show additional fields" in the template and you will see the "pmc" field. Please add just the number and don't include "PMC".

We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. Also, my own page was deleted by Deb for no reason. Please help!

No. The deletion was entirely appropriate. You were violating WP:AUTOBIO, WP:COI, WP:PROMO, and probably others. --Yamla (talk) 17:55, 9 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

No I was not, the article on myself was cited properly and in line with wiki guides. I would like this reviewed please.

Really? You are entirely unrelated to Tyler Barnett? Odd choice of username, then. Odd, too, that you claim copyright of an image of Tyler Barnett. Or perhaps you haven't read WP:COI and WP:AUTOBIO. --Yamla (talk) 19:40, 9 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

I am Tyler obviously, but this article was written by several people. It has been flagged and contested before. I have worked very hard to be a public figure. If someone saw me on TV and wanted to know more about me they should be able to find my wiki page. If you feel it needs editing thats entirely fair, but deletion is unwarranted. Someone please help here! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tylerbarnett (talkcontribs)

The deletion was entirely appropriate and has been reviewed by multiple people. If your only goal here is that page, you will not be unblocked, for the reasons previously mentioned. The process to have an article undeleted is WP:UND, but again, if this is your only goal, you simply aren't going to be unblocked. Wikipedia isn't a business directory, it isn't a web host, it isn't for writing about yourself. --Yamla (talk) 12:24, 10 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Tyler Barnett

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tyler Barnett, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, my page should not have been taken down. It was properly written and cited. I am a known personality with goo sources. I do not plan on ever posting here for anyone else as I now understand this ia a conflict. But my page was carefully written and should be restored. Thank you!   Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
  Hello, Tylerbarnett. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.Deb (talk) 14:44, 9 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

My page was properly cited and written and does not deserve to be taken down. Can someone please restore it?
