Possibly unfree File:Surojit Chatterjee.jpg

edit

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Surojit Chatterjee.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you object to the listing for any reason. Thank you. January (talk) 18:16, 26 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

I saw your statement that Dhiman ghosh is the photographer. I have seen the permission email from Surojit Chatterjee, but we need to clarify whether the photographer is still the copyright holder, or if the copyrights were transferred to Surojit Chatterjee. Please note that paying a photographer for photos does NOT automatically transfer the copyright. In some cases, the photographer provides the photos and retains the copyright, in other cases the photographer provides both the photo and a transfer of copyright. I wrote to Surojit Chatterjee and received a response, but the response did not address the issue (It looked like it might be an auto-response).--S Philbrick(Talk) 14:06, 27 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Dear Philbrick In this case Dhiman Ghosh has transferred the copyright to Surojit Chatterjee also. Only because of that Surojit Chatterjee himself has given the permission. If you need further clarification please tell me the necessary process. Tuhinmwiki (talk) 07:43, 28 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Tuhinmwiki. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Draft:Surojit Chatterjee (Musician), you may have a conflict of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations.

I have replied to your query re permission for the photo at File talk:Surojit Chatterjee.jpg. January (talk) 21:33, 26 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Dear January, I am aware of the rules and will strictly follow the rules and will update only information which are publicly available with proper citation. Tuhinmwiki (talk) 10:53, 27 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Sukamal Nath

edit

Hello, Tuhinmwiki

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Mhawk10, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I’ve proposed an article that you started, Sukamal Nath, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. To prevent the deletion, please add a reference to the article. You may remove the deletion tag yourself once the article has at least one reliable source.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Mhawk10}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Proposed deletion of Sukamal Nath

edit

The article Sukamal Nath has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

BLP lacks in-depth coverage in independent WP:RS

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
