Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia, hope you enjoy your time here. I noticed you changed the order of a date - you can set your preferences so linked dates display the way you prefer (one of the advantages of having an account). It's better not to edit articles to switch around the dates. Cheers! Mak (talk) 19:29, 5 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dates edit

Please stop converting dates to UK Format. Wikipedia's manual of style states that either style is acceptable, there is no rule where one is preferred over the other, even if it is a UK subject. "If an article has been stable in a given style, it should not be converted without a style-independent reason. Where in doubt, defer to the style used by the first major contributor." Please find something more constructive to do. --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 10:42, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please stop changing date formats. I know you're probably used to seeing the UK Format, but like I said you can't just arbitrarily change it without any justification. --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 23:25, 21 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

You are now a Reviewer edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 01:29, 18 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

January 2012 edit

Please don't change the format of dates. As a general rule, if an article has evolved using predominantly one format, the dates should be left in the format they were originally written in, unless there are reasons for changing it based on strong national ties to the topic. Please also note that Wikipedia does not use ordinal suffixes (e.g., st, nd, th), articles, or leading zeros on dates.

For more information about how dates should be written on Wikipedia, please see this article.

If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on Wikipedia. Thank you. You have previously been warned about needlessly changing date formats. I direct you to read and follow the policy of WP:DATERET. Dolovis (talk) 03:44, 26 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for April 12 edit

Hi. When you recently edited The Magnetic Lady, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Radio 3 (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:15, 12 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Correct procedure for changing American English to British English edit

Hi there. Someone said that you were going into articles and changing American English to British English. I'd like to direct you to WP:RETAIN in particular and WP:ENGVAR in general.

When an English variety's consistent usage has been established in an article, it is maintained in the absence of consensus to the contrary. With few exceptions (e.g. when a topic has strong national ties or a term/spelling carries less ambiguity), there is no valid reason for such a change.

In general, it is not okay for any editor to change only the national variety of English on his or her own. If you believe that some article or other has strong national ties to a specific English-speaking region and should therefore be written in the variety spoken in that region, then go on the article talk page and start a discussion about it. This will allow a new consensus to form. EDIT: Okay, I took a look and both the pages that were cited to me were on arguably British subjects. I don't think you did anything wrong, but it might be wise to start discussions on the talk page just to be safe. Darkfrog24 (talk) 02:01, 14 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

And I have done so at Talk:Steven Lewington because I believe there to be no national tie to use British English other than his birthplace. Regards, — Moe ε 06:30, 14 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Thank you for your interest in style issues for articles on British subjects. The exchange taking place at Manual of Style brought me here. I see that you carry out your work manually. You may be interested to know that I have developed several tools that may help you increase your productivity when performing same, and would invite you to examine these tools to see if they would meet your needs.
