Proposed deletion of David M. Nisson edit

The article David M. Nisson has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not pass WP:NBIO and (also noting he left academia after getting his doctorate) he has too low citation counts for an WP:NACADEMIC#C1 pass

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ovinus (talk) 19:04, 5 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Just to clarify: thanks for creating this article on Nisson, but he does not pass our notability guidelines. In other words, there is insufficient material about him available to prove that he deserves a standalone article. You may contest this finding, at which point a larger discussion will occur. Let me know if you have any questions (you can reply here). Ovinus (talk) 19:07, 5 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello Ovinus, I am Truth 2239, who is new in the Wikipedia community, and appreciate your assistance with this- my first article about a member of an underrepresented group in STEM professions, David M. Nisson, Ph.D. Because students with savant syndrome autism were historically excluded from college, especially those requiring 1:1 supports staffing, the significance of Dr. Nisson's contribution is not so much about the science itself, as about the fact that he was able to make any contribution at all. So, I thank you for your criticism because you have called my attention to the fact that I need to re-categorize the page to emphasize disability inclusion notability, rather than scientific notability.
As you will read in the paragraphs I'm preparing to post, his social services "person centered plan" is the first of its kind. With hindsight, I realize I should have waited until I could find time away from work to write more paragraphs, rather than to post a stub.
Taking time off work to catch up now, and leaving your proposed for deletion tag in place until you have time to read my next paragraphs. Please provide me feedback. Thanks. Truth2239 (talk) 20:23, 5 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of California STEM Learning Network edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on California STEM Learning Network, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. December 2022 edit

Please do not add the name of the accused to 2022 pregnancy of a 10-year-old in Ohio, per WP:BLPCRIME. --Jax 0677 (talk) 01:42, 24 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, Jax 0677, for the reminder about respecting the right to a fair trial by avoiding reference to the name of the accused in the article. Were you only speaking about in the article itself, or are you recommending deletion of the CNN citation, where the reader is then hit with the accused's name if they follow the link? Unfortunately, I haven't found a source that provides an update about the trial date with only a reference to "the accused" or "the man accused of...", and of course the references section is replete with links to articles containing his name. • Reply - Truth be told, I am not sure. However, I think that protecting the identity of the suspect has priority over adding information about the trial, but I could be wrong. --Jax 0677 (talk) 10:26, 24 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Jax 0677 -- Thank you for your December 2022 reply to my comment regarding the avoidance of violations against the Presumption of innocence. Although I've been a member for a while now, I'm still quite the "newbie", and count on experienced writers to help me. Now I'm contacting you because I'm surprised to see the name of the accused mentioned in the article on the 2023 Davis, California stabbings. Do you understand why the identity of the accused in the 2022 Ohio child-rape and Indiana abortion case is protected until proven guilty, while the identity of the Davis murder suspect is not? Also, can you direct me to a page where Wikipedia discusses this issue? Truth2239 (talk) 22:48, 13 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
