Moving of article

edit

Hi!

Your moving of Aimone, 4th Duke of Aosta to Tomislav II of Croatia, 4th Duke of Aosta was not especially well performed; it left a number of double redirects. --Palnatoke 14:11, 10 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

moving snap music to snap (music)

edit

Why'd you make this move? I reverted the move, because: a)the genre is more commonly referred to as "snap music", not "snap"(see google if you dont believe me) and b)you made a cut and paste move, instead of using the 'move' button.

I really suggest you read up on wikipedia's policies, and read Wikipedia:Introduction, before you continue editing-- it uses up time when we have to revert unhelpful changes. Thanks, --Urthogie 20:53, 1 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sometimes people link to bad names in disambig pages. Need to watch out for that.--Urthogie 11:51, 2 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

old school hip hop

edit

"In modern usage, it is sometimes used to refer to the early 90's." Could you please cite an example of a maintstream medium using it this way? Thanks, --Urthogie 19:40, 2 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Styles

edit

They shouldn't be included right at the beginning, though there's nothing retricting their use after the initial name with "styled" in front of them. (Your version looked better, however.) Proteus (Talk) 17:07, 8 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Final warning - stop unilateral page moving. You are causing chaos all over the place

edit

This is your last warning. You have been asked to stop unilaterally moving pages. Wikipedia has clear procedures for moving pages. Other than in exceptional cases those procedures should be followed. Your actions are causing considerable problems for other users and are being seen by some as vandalism. Vandalism of pages results in a user being blocked from editing Wikipedia. Any more unilateral page moves will see you blocked from editing Wikipedia. You are causing chaos all over the place, breaking lists, creating tangled redirects that redirect to each other, etc. This has got to stop. This is your FINAL warning. Either you stop it or you will be blocked to stop you. FearÉIREANN \

Your contributions lists large numbers of moves. They may all very well be in good faith, but the way they are being done is causing chaos all over the place. I've just recently had to move tangled redirects to transfer a talk page back to the location of the article. WP rules are constantly evolving. Sometimes new issues do arise which can lead people to decide to tweak existing naming conventions. At this stage people are struggling to keep up with you, to fix (inadvent) chaos in moves, etc. A lot of articles need new locations but we need to be careful about how articles are moved and where they are moved to. A lot of people have put a lot of hard work into the royal naming conventions, and if faced with a convincing suggestion will support proposed moves. But massive moving of articles causes major problems. Please work with others and discuss the moves. The reason a final warning was issued was because major moving of articles without discussion is regarded as a major action. Users have been blocked for it. You weren't because whatever mistakes you made were genuine. So please slow down, discuss suggestions with them and work with the team. Massive unilateral moves should never take place. (Unilateral moves should if at all possible be kept merely to correcting spellings, etc. Moving to a new name should be proposed at Requested Moves and discussed on the talk page. And all moves should have their redirects checked to ensure there is no collatoral damage. FearÉIREANN \(caint) 22:15, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

BTW most of the "angry rant" is automatically generated by a final warning template on move pages. If you were offended I am sorry. Unfortunately we do have users who appear suddenly and begin mass page moves. When the scale of the moving hits a high level a final warning template is automatically placed (if not an automatic ban) and a blunt warning to stop. Please do contribute to the pages, and make suggestions about moves, just more slowly before everyone gets dizzy trying to catch up! :)

There is no need to apologize at all. While the guidelines make it seem that the princess should have her husband's territorial title appended to the end of her name, common usage doesn't support that. Benedikte is the Princess of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg. However, in the back of everyone's heads, her husband is legally in Germany a commoner, not a sovereign. She outranks her husband in Denmark, certainly, and if they were not a couple, she would probably outrank him at royal functions outside of Denmark as well. That may provide insight as to why the Princess is referred to mostly by her Danish title, but who knows. Ideally, she would be referred to by the name which you had moved her to. The world isn't an ideal place though. Charles 23:49, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
