Eric Carmen
editIt looks as if the IP address that seems to be from Crimea wants to edit war on the Eric Carmen article. Steelbeard1 (talk) 18:06, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- It's pure vandalism, the IP is just removing information with external sources and is not giving any explanation as regards the purpose. Just in case this is not so, don't fall foul of WP:3RR, not worth it. --Boy Seeks Girl Tonight (talk) 18:48, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. Thankfully, someone else reverted the vandalism allowing me to report the IP address in question. See User:194.54.154.139 reported by User:Steelbeard1 (Result: ). Steelbeard1 (talk) 18:52, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- Another Crimean IP address reverted it. I mentioned it in the noticeboard. Steelbeard1 (talk) 20:19, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

Both IP addresses are blocked. Feel free to revert. I can't revert for risk of going 3RR. Steelbeard1 (talk) 02:12, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
I guess a rebuttal is in order in Talk:Eric Carmen. Steelbeard1 (talk) 03:19, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
Talk pages
editHi, the {{talk page}} template really is only for talk pages where heated discussions take place, no need to put it on empty talk pages. Happy editing! --Randykitty (talk) 12:26, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- Aaaahhh sorry, thought it was a standard opening! Won't do it again. Boy Seeks Girl Tonight (talk) 22:45, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- No problem, just saving you some unnecessary effort :-) --Randykitty (talk) 23:13, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
Not appropriate
editDon't tell editors - new or otherwise - to ignore biographies of living persons guidelines as you did here [1]. Self-reverted or not, adding defamatory name-calling to an article is never acceptable. Wikipedia takes such behavior VERY seriously and so should you. The very first statements at WP:BLP state, "Editors must take particular care when adding information about living persons to any Wikipedia page.[1] Such material requires a high degree of sensitivity, and must adhere strictly to all applicable laws in the United States...". Advising an editor to ignore BLP guidelines is reckless and totally out of line. -- WV ● ✉ ✓ 23:11, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- I don't suggest anyone ignores the rules, they are there ahead of every one of us opening our account. Naturally you are welcome to revert any of the editor's contributions made in bad faith. The coast for you is clear. --Boy Seeks Girl Tonight (talk) 23:13, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
Congrats... You gave an awesome answer in the Teahouse!

A quick reminder
editG'day. I would just like to remind you when answering Editors that use the {{help me}} template to change the template from {{help me}} to {{help me-helped}}. The template is made so that any requests are put in a category and relayed to an IRC channel, so it helps to make sure this template is not doing this when someone is helped. Thanks! LorTalk 14:19, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
- Aaaaah right sorry, I really wasn't aware of that. Sorry for the confusion it created. --Boy Seeks Girl Tonight (talk) 16:56, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
Vandalism
editWhen you report users for vandalism, please report them to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism and not Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism/TB2. The second one is reserved for automated bots to report. Next time, click on the edit button with the "User-reported" header and add it there.
Also, when you warn users, please utilize the proper templates. I see you giving {{welcome3}} to registered users; that template is to welcome anonymous/IP users only. Please remember to only report users after you've given them final warnings and they've broken that final warning. only (talk) 15:56, 25 January 2015 (UTC)
- All points noted. --Boy Seeks Girl Tonight (talk) 16:32, 25 January 2015 (UTC)
