February 2020 edit

  Hello, I'm Serols. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Lumen Christi Catholic School—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Serols (talk) 18:39, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

  Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Lumen Christi Catholic School. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism can result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Serols (talk) 18:43, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello, this was the new moto that our students made. Please do not revert any of the edits made by the Lumen Christi staff. Thank you. Ted ludlow 20 (talk) 18:45, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Ted ludlow 20: Hi, Welcome to Wikipedia. To summarize why your edits are being revert is that they require verification and, I personally suspect you have a collision of interest with your edits in Lumen Christi Catholic School. Please request your edits on the talk page of the article in question. Thanks, Upsidedown Keyboard (talk) 18:48, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Is there someone we can contact about the unrelenting reversions you are making to our edits? Thank you. Ted ludlow 20 (talk) 18:48, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Ted ludlow 20: No, Wikipedia is mostly community-run. Please discuss your changes with the community on the article's talk page. We have extensive community-vetted policies available here. Upsidedown Keyboard (talk) 18:51, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

This is quite frankly ridiculous! We do not need to discuss changes with the community. Please stop reverting our edits or we will have to take the page down. Thank you! Ted ludlow 20 (talk) 18:54, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Ted ludlow 20: I strongly urge you to cease your edit war. This can result in indefinite blocks from editing on Wikipedia. Changes are subject to consensus. Thanks, Upsidedown Keyboard (talk) 18:56, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

I will stop when we get our moto changed! It is absolutely horrible how long it takes to get one moto changed! Is there something wrong with the moto? Stop reverting our moto or we will have to cut ties with Wikipedia! Thank you! Ted ludlow 20 (talk) 19:05, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Ted ludlow 20: If you can provide a reliable source for your motto changing, I will gladly change it. The issue we have with you changing the motto is that it was unsourced and the edit was possibly a collision of interest. You chose to revert against consensus and start a edit war, which resulted in your block. Thanks, Upsidedown Keyboard (talk) 19:07, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

What reliable source? There's no one to ask but me. Do you want me to send you a video of the students all saying they agree? Ted ludlow 20 (talk) 19:11, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Also I ceased the editing only to get blocked? What kind of messed up logic is that? Ted ludlow 20 (talk) 19:13, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Ted ludlow 20: Click here for information on what is a verifiable source. As for the block? You went past 3 reverts, which constitutes edit waring. Upsidedown Keyboard (talk) 19:14, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

This is ridiculous! I can't get a source, this is the school doing it! We donate $200 every year to Wikipedia. If you don't have any higher ups does that money go to you? We will be canceling all of our donations and I personally will go out of my way to tell others how corrupt and mismanaged Wikipedia is! We are one of the few schools to allow Wikipedia as a reliable source but now I see why others do not. Ted ludlow 20 (talk) 19:20, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Ted ludlow 20: That's the thing, we don't know with certainty if you are the school. Secondly, I think this whole predicament actually proves the opposite of your point. If we are so corrupt and mismanaged, why do I go out of my way to ask you to verify your changes? If nobody did this, there would be rampant misinformation on the wiki. If you are truly a faculty member, you should be able to provide some sort of evidence that the motto has changed. If you cannot, use your position to create such evidence, such as a press release staring the change in motto.
As for the donations, While I do want your generous donations to continue funding the operational costs of the Wikimedia Project, you need to realize I am not some employee in an office building. I am a person spending his personal free time talking to you. Please consider that you, like me, are just another editor, and are subject to the same standards and scrutiny that I am. Thank you, Upsidedown Keyboard (talk) 19:31, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Ted ludlow 20. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Lumen Christi Catholic School, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Upsidedown Keyboard (talk) 18:44, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Lumen Christi Catholic School, you may be blocked from editing. Serols (talk) 18:47, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

  You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Lumen Christi Catholic School. Serols (talk) 18:52, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

I'm going to ask you one more time, who is your higher up and how do I contact them? This is insanely disrespectful and will not be tolerated here at Lumen Christi. If you do not give us the correct contact information we will take down the page and find it ourselves. This is an extremely difficult process to have our moto changed and I personally am disappointed in the lack of moderation here. Thank you. Ted ludlow 20 (talk) 18:59, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Ted ludlow 20: That's the thing, we don't have higher ups. Wikipedia can be edited by anyone. Anyone can edit pages, even without an account. It is highly unlikely you will get an article taken down unless there is genuine libel or copyrighted material, which we will gladly take down as per our guidelines. If you want to have the information changed while also having a COI, you can submit an edit request whenever you get unblocked. This is because we have a policy against edits with collisions of interest. Thanks, Upsidedown Keyboard (talk) 19:03, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Unblocked? What is wrong with you! We just want to make a simple edit to OUR page! This is ridiculous! Tell me who to contact in order to get unblocked! Ted ludlow 20 (talk) 19:06, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Ted ludlow 20: please read the guide to appealing blocks. Upsidedown Keyboard (talk) 19:10, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

February 2020 edit

Your recent editing history at Lumen Christi Catholic School shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abuse of editing privileges.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Materialscientist (talk) 18:59, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

This is unacceptable and will not be tolerated at Lumen Christi, revert the edits now or our attorney will be in touch. Ted ludlow 20 (talk) 19:09, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Lol. No, what won't be tolerated is a schoolkid like yourself trying to get over like you are the school administrator. No person in a position of authority with a college education would behave as you've behaved here. Period. Materialscientist or any other administrator, please add NLT to the block log and revoke TPA. Also, be advised there is an LTA associated with this article. Unfortunately, the name is escaping me. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for making legal threats or taking legal action. In addition, your ability to edit your talk page has also been revoked.
You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia while the threats stand or the legal action is unresolved.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then submit a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System.  Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 02:41, 27 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
