Hello, T.scott0513, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Sage and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. Cross-posting and discussion fragmenting

edit

Hi, T.scott0513, Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like it here, and decide to stay.

You did the right thing by advertising your intentions about your new article by posting on the Talk pages of relevant articles or projects. In the future, if you add a notice like this, please create your message about your plans in just one place, whatever the most logical Talk page location is. For all the other messages, instead of duplicating the entire message, just add a brief message with a pointer to the main discussion.

The way this would work in your current example, is to start by leaving the full message at Talk:Homophobia in ethnic minority communities#New Article, which seems like the most logical place for it. Then, in the other locations, like Talk:Minority group, just leave a brief, neutrally-worded comment with a link to your main message, something like this:

Your feedback is welcome about a new article I'm proposing, at Talk:Homophobia in ethnic minority communities#New Article. ~~~~

This will help keep all the replies in one place, and avoid fragmenting the discussion, so others can all participate together, if they choose to. I've taken care of this for you, this time, but please follow this recommendation if this situation comes up again. Good luck, and again: welcome! Mathglot (talk) 11:55, 26 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Mathglot, thank you for your feedback, and thank you for assisting my by moving the discussion. I appreciate it!T.scott0513 (talk) 18:54, 10 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

You’re welcome. By the way:
  1. Please see WP:THREAD for proper use of indentation in order to keep discussion threads orderly and comprehensible as to authorship.
  2. Please notify users you respond to, in case they’re not watching the page. See templates {{reply}} and {{ping}}.
Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 22:11, 10 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

The Wikimedia LGBTQ+ User Group is holding online working days in May. As a member of WikiProject LGBT studies, editing on LGBTQ+ issues or if you identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, come help us set goals, develop our organisation and structures, consider how to respond to issues faced by Queer editors, and plan for the next 12 months.

We will be meeting online for 3 half-days, 14–16 May at 1400–1730 UTC. While our working language is English, we are looking to accommodate users who would prefer to participate in other languages, including translation facilities.

More information, and registration details, at QW2021.--Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group 02:57, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
