Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, SunshineBluebird. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 04:28, 16 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, you just posted to my talk page, presumably in response to the above. Did you have a question about the notice? If you follow the blue links, there's plenty of information about the various concepts mentioned. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 12:45, 16 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I am not affiliated with HS or any of its organizations. I am doing a research project for my university. Please stop with the disruptive editing. --SunshineBluebird (talk) 12:52, 16 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

How can Wikipedia editing (and removing well-sourced criticism against a controversial organisation) be part of a research project - what kind of research project would that be? We are building an encyclopedia here, which means articles are based on independent sources; removing such information and such sources is disruptive, and when a new editor shows up and makes only such edits (just like many other single-purpose accounts have done before over the years) that is disruptive. I would suggest editing some completely different area where your edits won't be misinterpreted. --bonadea contributions talk 12:56, 16 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
This organization is not controversial however. This is a gross misrepresentation of the facts. SunshineBluebird (talk) 13:44, 16 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Removing posts from your talk page

edit

You can remove almost anything from your talk page (except unanswered block appeals), but please understand that we consider that removal shows that you have read it. Thus for instance you can be blocked for 3RR violations without another notice. And for future personal attacks. Doug Weller talk 16:24, 16 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
