Speedy deletion nomination of Srinjoy Mukherjee

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Srinjoy Mukherjee requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Mblumber (talk) 04:43, 22 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello Srinjoysarod. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Srinjoy Mukherjee, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 13:46, 22 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Srinjoy Mukherjee. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you.   Hello, I'm Iambic Pentameter. I noticed that in this edit to User:Doug_Weller, you removed all the content without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, I restored the page's content. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. — Iambic Pentameter (talk / contribs) 15:00, 15 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

The above edit seems to be related to Doug's removal of information from the page Amaan Ali Khan. You should note that as per WP:BLP, and the BLP template on the article talk page, and I quote, "Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately from the article." It may be open to question how "contentious" these "associated acts" are, but the obligation to provide sourcing still remains. Seeing as you have, since I started this comment, reverted 3 times in less than an hour, I guess, I am obligated to also tell you at WP:AN/3. John Carter (talk) 15:18, 15 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for persistently making disruptive edits. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  NeilN talk to me 16:26, 15 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Edit warring, COI editing, BLP violations, vandalism, failure to communicate... Keep this up and your next block will be much longer. --NeilN talk to me 16:31, 15 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Note you also edited logged out as User:45.248.58.225. Unsourced material in the biography of a living person may not be restored once deleted, and sources must meet our criteria at WP:RS. In any case, you appear to be writing an autobiography. Doug Weller talk 18:01, 15 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Your conflict of interest - and sources

edit

First, you shouldn't be editing a page that you have a close relationship to. The subject's Facebook page is your username reversed. You should be suggesting material on the talk page.

Wikipedia articles aren't like Facebook. Their content should be based on what reliable sources say about the subject. And our definition of reliable sources for a living person is pretty strict. You need to read WP:RS carefully and WP:BLP. Doug Weller talk 13:13, 17 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

You're ignoring what I've said

edit

You continue to add promotional material to an article with which you have a conflict of interest. The lack of reliable sources is also an issue but in this case even the edits were appropriate you should not be adding them to the article. Doug Weller talk 21:03, 26 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please treat Doug Weller's "should not" as "don't do that again or you'll be blocked". This time indefinitely as you only seem here to promote yourself. --NeilN talk to me 22:08, 26 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
