Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Caught by a web host block but this host or IP is not a web host. Place any further information here. Sir artur (talk) 13:59, 5 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You are no longer affected as you have found a different proxy that allows account editing. I'm also declining IPBE as you don't edit all that frequently.

Hello. Wikipedia is blocked in the country I am in. I am using VPN, I request IP block exemption. I am a wikipedian who has contributed several articles into Turkmen Wiki, small contributions have been done to Turkish and English wiki by me. Waiting. Thank you in advance. Request reason:

Not able to edit that frequently since it is blocked in my country and I have no IP exemption

Accept reason:

IPBE granted for one year. Sir artur, as you edit across multiple Wikipedia projects you may want to request global IPBE from the Stewards at Meta. Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 15:45, 15 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

How could I edit all that frequently if I am in a country in which WP is blocked and I do not have Ip exemption? I was active contributor to Turkmen wikipedia, I still would be if I could edit but it is blocked in my country and I can not edit via my VPN and now you decline IP exemption due to not editing that frequently? Please give my IP exemption so that I can be active.

I'm not an admin but I suggest you follow the recommendations at Wikipedia:IP block exemption#Used for anonymous proxy editing which says "Email the functionaries team or contact a CheckUser directly, explaining why you need to edit via anonymous proxies." It's probably best if you just email them if possible Wikipedia:Functionaries#Mailing list, since then it's more likely to be noticed by someone who is used to dealing with this. Rather than contacting a random checkuser, as I'm guessing you don't know any. Nil Einne (talk) 13:05, 15 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Nil Einne is probably right, and your best bet is likely to email the functionaries team at functionaries-en@lists.wikimedia.org. However, I am also pinging a reliable CheckUser in case she or he may be willing to deal with your request directly. @Ponyo: The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 13:26, 15 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thank you all for your help. I have one more question, let us see if you can help me. I saw a content that is not only unsupported by the source but contradicts the person who is being quoted as well in Turkish wikipedia. I discussed this issue on the related page, a moderator/patrol first added another source instead of deleting the contradiction, I informed him that his newly added source as well does not support the content and at the sime time I gave him the footage and transcript of the interview that is under scrutiny. Now that moderator ignored all and still keeping that distortion in Turkish wikipedia. Where should I report this abuse and how can we solve? I reported this issue on Turkish wikipedia's complaints page, no one is interested there for a month. Where should I report it? As of now all of the discussions and reports I were involved in regarding this issue took place in Turkish, a summary of these discussion in English can be viewed here: https://www.quora.com/What-makes-Wikipedia-so-detested-by-teachers/answer/Artur-Koort If need be, I will translate our discussions and sources.

IP block exempt edit

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked (through the use of CheckUser) periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 15:45, 15 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring and violating the three-revert rule. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Swarm 23:52, 18 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

I need to link pages and category pages of Turkmen wikipedia into English one but my VPN is blocked on English wiki. Please, grant me IP exemption so that I can edit both wikis. I already have it on Turkmen wiki. I sometimes edit on English wikipedia as well, you can look at my contributions. Kind regards, --Ruhubelent (talk) 08:57, 27 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
You've been editing Wikipedia earlier this month. In order to be considered for IPBE, you'll need to explain what's changed, how you were able to edit a couple of weeks ago but now require IPBE. Note that I'm just asking a question here, I'm not meaning to imply anything. I can imagine several entirely legitimate situations where you would have been able to edit earlier but no longer can. --Yamla (talk) 11:41, 27 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Whom should I address explaining it, @Yamla:? Here is my explanation: I have been editing from a university library which serves its clients Wikipedia even though it is blocked in the country. At the end of this month, I will not be able to edit from the library for 3 reasons: 1) I will no longer be in this city starting from the next week. 2) Even if I stay here, this library will shut itself down temporarily, for more than a month starting on the 10th of August. That is why I asked for IP block exemption. 3) I can edit only when I am in the university but most of the time I edit Turkmen wikipedia via VPN while I am at home and it requires me IP block exemption. Sincerely yours, --Ruhubelent (talk) 11:53, 27 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Note edit

Hi, I’ve reverted your edits to your user and user talk pages as inappropriately targeting groups of editors. Please do not bring issues from meta wiki to en.wiki. You are welcome to edit here, but meta issues should stay at meta. TonyBallioni (talk) 19:23, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello @TonyBallioni:. First, know that I am trying to reason with you, not trying to initiate a polemic. Keep it in mind. Then, coming back to user-page issue: I have just looked at your userpage's current display. Here is the point:
  • You state you are a dual citizen - has nothing to do with Wikipedia. You can bring your citizenship issue into your userpage but I can not inform why I am being blocked on Wiki?? Why?
  • You state you partook in a cardinal election - has nothing to do with Wikipedia. You can bring your social life career milestone into your userpage but I can not inform why I am being blocked on Wiki? Why?
  • You feature a zone with a huge Mexican flag on your userpage - it has nothing to do withWikipedia. You can bring your personal life travels into your userpage but on my userpage I can not inform why I am blocked on wiki? Why?
  • No need to go further, if people can bring their private life issues into Wiki userpages, why not people can not put information about why they are blocked on their userpage?
Why this double standards? Please, answer all of these questions. If any, please point out any en.wiki rule banning informing others of why you are blocked, then I will stop doing it. If none, then please do not harass my userpage. I will wait for your reply, then I will act. Kind regards,--Ruhubelent (talk) 19:42, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
On en.wiki it’s considered normal to have some bits about you on your user page. As a matter of record, though, it’s saying I promoted a list to featured list status, not that I’m a cardinal or that I was alive 400 years ago.
WP:POLEMIC prohibits vilification of groups of people. You’re using your user pages to vilify meta admins. We don’t allow this. Your comments on Billinghurst’s talk page on this project also imported dramah from meta. This is also not allowed. TonyBallioni (talk) 20:25, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Nothing is being used to vilify - it is informing people why I am blocked, it has nothing to do with vilifying. My message on Billinghurst was just to tell him to stay away from my talk page, nothing more. I did it here as I could not do it there. Anyway, as I now resent to jeopardise permanent block out of nowhere, I will delay my action because I have a job to do now but once my job ends I will act, Hello TonyBallioni --Ruhubelent (talk) 06:55, 17 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
