HS Elektra

edit

Hi. I'm a little confused about HS Elektra versus SS Elektra. In addition to your article having no references, the title of the article (HS) doesn't match the content (SS Elektra). Did you intend to write "SS" in the title instead of "HS"? Because I can fix that for you if that's the case.. but making a new article with the title and politely telling people to click a different link isn't a good solution. If you'd like, I can move HS Elektra to the draftspace so you can continue working on it (expanding + adding sources) without fear of it being deleted. Please let me know if you have any questions, or place {{help me}} on your talk page (this page) with your question following. Feel free to respond on either my talk page or yours -- I'll keep tabs on both. Have a good day! ɯɐɔ 💬 17:02, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Actually I wanted the title to be HS Elektra, but accidentally created the SS Elektra title as well. Like you said, could you please fix the problem and only leave HS Elekra as the title? I would be very grateful!Shipster24 (talk) 17:05, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Can do! I'll make sure to change the name of the article as well as the topic. That being said, you need sources for your article or else it's at risk for deletion. ɯɐɔ 💬 17:11, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hey Thisisnotcam, I read that you like playing clarinet, and did you know that my main instrument is a trumpet?Shipster24 (talk) 17:20, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hi. Instead of reading up on my userpage, could you maybe work on finding sources for your article? Thanks. ɯɐɔ 💬 17:25, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sorry. But what are sources? I am a noob in Wikipedia, so I don't know.Shipster24 (talk) 17:35, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sources are what establish credibility and back up claims made by articles; they're the backbone of the encyclopedia. It's where you got your information from, and has to be reliable -- not just an old wives' tale or family history. That being said, please familiarize yourself with sources before you start to make pages. I'll add the Wikipedia Adventure to your talk page so you can walk through the process of editing correctly. I'll also move all your pages to the draftspace so while you're learning, you won't have your articles (which I feel are notable) deleted. ɯɐɔ 💬 23:48, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hi Shipster24! Oboe-playing administrator here. I'm very glad you're here, and want to make the encyclopedia better. I think you've started an article on an interesting topic. Wikipedia can be a confusing place, with lots and lots of policies for a place that claims you should ignore all rules. Hope you're having fun, let me know if I can make things easier or explain something. By no means do I know everything around here, but I probably know someone who can help, should I fail. I'd like to centralize the discussion at Talk:HS Elektra, if possible, so that anyone working on the article doesn't have to ping all the other participants. All the best, 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 03:29, 27 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I get what sources are now. But where do you write them on your page?Shipster24 (talk) 06:37, 27 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sources are very important, but they are among the most difficult things for a new Wikipedian to figure out. My favorite reference for these is Referencing for Beginners. I hope that helps. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 13:32, 27 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
