September 2015 edit

  Hello, I'm KSFT. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Muhammad al-Yaqoubi  with this edit, without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. KSFTC 22:26, 9 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Other shaykhs do not have their personal life shared so there is no reason to share Shaykh Muhammads, there is nothing wrong with the content, in itself but the marital status and number of children including their names is not relevant. It is not of public interest or benefit, in the past Shaykhs families and their children have never been exposed so why now. Please respect mostly their privacy and their security. Sincerest regards. September 2015 edit

Your recent editing history at Muhammad al-Yaqoubi shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war, and violated the three-revert. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.Justice007 (talk) 14:47, 10 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

User:Shadilli, you do not have the right to decide for yourself which Wikipedia guidelines you will follow and which you will ignore. You have provided no evidence to support your claim that anyone is endangered by the information you keep removing. You must desist. George Custer's Sabre (talk) 15:47, 10 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
i am not trying to ignore or follow certain guidelines, i am trying to ensure the page is beneficial whilst respecting the children and his wife right to privacy and safety. If you haven't read the page perhaps you should review who the Shaykh is speaking against and maybe then you will have an idea why their safety and privacy is important i don't really know how to make things clearer. A compromise on the page has been made, stating that Sayyiduna Shaykh Muhammad is married with four children, the names of those children or his wife are private and out of respect for that fact the shaykh is speaking out against terrorist organisations it would be much appreaciated that there names are not shared.

how can you update the title of publications that are only available in shops not online? can you add a photo of the cover , or are they just not able to be included User:Shadhilli

Your recent edits edit

  Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 15:15, 10 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Oh ok thank you very much. shadhilli

Our conflict of interest policy edit

  Hello, Shadhilli. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest.

Editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy. People with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. If you have a conflict of interest, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with (see WP:COI);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing, and autobiographies. Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see the conflict of interest guideline and frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 15:52, 10 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

== I find this all rather frightening, people who have no relation to the person this page is about; will not care of the safety of this persons family. Surely the page is about the muhammad al yaqoubi and not his wife or children. Surely the fact this individual is speaking out about terrorist organisations allows for his family to be protected in some way. A compromise was offered which was deleted i.e Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi is married with four children. Distributing their names is rather irresponsible and wreckless in current timesshadhilli

The children's names are not mentioned. George Custer's Sabre (talk) 17:32, 10 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
they were originally, anyway this is much better.

how can one reference books that are not available online? is it possible to upload pictures of the photo cover or is it best just not to reference them? multiple books are available in the arab world which have not been sold online.

Do not put cover images. This is a bio page. George Custer's Sabre (talk) 17:39, 10 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
so you can't reference published works unless they are on the internet? how do we reference books from older eras shadhilli
Not if you can't demonstrate with reliable and neutral sources that they actually exist. George Custer's Sabre (talk) 17:47, 10 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Ok thanks shadhilli

Muhammad al-Yaqoubi edit

You seem intent on adding a significant amount of material to this page, yet you also seem to be a brand new editor with little familiarity with key Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Citations to reliable, authoritative, and neutral third-party sources are essential. Wikipedia requires them. Two good sets of Wikipedia guidelines that I have found really useful can be found HERE and HERE. My recommendation is that if you want to make any substantial changes to the Yaqoubi page you should first discuss them on the talk page and give other editors a chance to comment on them. You might even find that some editors will HELP you. Regards, George Custer's Sabre (talk) 18:22, 10 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ok, thank you i will review these pages thanks for your guidance. [[shadhilli]
