Guillaume Couillard [fr]

You asked a question in the edit summary, so I am answering it here. I monitor this page, Wikipedia:Database reports/Interlanguage link templates need to fix, because I've noticed that people don't always use the {{Interlanguage link}} template correctly. The report said that Guillaume Couillard was "Missing converted local page, or the foreign / local page is not link to wikidata". In this case it was because there was a discordance between the en.wiki, fr.wiki and wikidata. On the en.wiki there was Guillaume Couillard (tennis player) and on the fr.wiki there was fr:Guillaume Couillard which corresponds in English to Guillaume Couillard (settler). So, I cleaned it up by pointing everything to the right place, and adding the link in a few places that didn't have it. This is why I am reverting you. --evrik (talk) 22:21, 15 March 2024 (UTC)

Apologies

I apologize for copping an attitude the other day. I think we all want what's best for Wikipedia, and I shouldn't have gotten so indignant. It was primarily the frustration of having hours of diligent good-faith work undone, but that's no excuse. I could've handled it better. milladrive (talk) 00:44, 28 March 2024 (UTC)

American English for Billy Elliot article?

Is there a reason why you flipped text in the Billy Elliot article into American English? [1]C.Fred (talk) 11:02, 2 April 2024 (UTC)

"Not corrected"

re: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Automatic_for_the_People&diff=0&oldid=1218420453 Yes, it was. You may have a cache issue or something. Please undo. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 17:57, 11 April 2024 (UTC)

Much thanks, comrade. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 06:45, 12 April 2024 (UTC)

Jon Richardson's birthday

You have removed this repeatedly from his Wiki page saying that it is not citable. Jon himself has since confirmed his birthday as 26 September in a Series 5 episode of Meet the Richardsons. Is this source - the subject of the Wikipedia article himself - good enough for you? 92.238.199.227 (talk) 21:28, 12 April 2024 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Elliott Smith. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. OK--I really need you to explain why you are making these reverts. Where's the vandalism? And where is the vandalism here? I'm looking at an unblock request from an editor whom you reverted twice last year without a word of explanation--do I have to explain why you might have reverted them a year ago? I can't do that. Please, explain in edit summaries, esp. when marking something as vandalism when it isn't obviously vandalism. Drmies (talk) 19:01, 22 April 2024 (UTC)

Ah, apologies. I saw an IP editor before that, making a similar edit on the Elliott Smith article, was reverted with a reason given. I thought it was the same IP (it wasn't, but could still be the same editor?) just ignoring the warning. I was editing on mobile and will refrain from reverting unless I’m in a position to give an edit summary. IPs adding random music genres has been an issue too. Seasider53 (talk) 20:21, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
No doubt, and I typically follow Binksternet's advice in handling such IPs--but edit summaries are necessary for collaboration, and especially for administrators like me in fighting disruption. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 21:53, 22 April 2024 (UTC)

Johnny Marr

Hi - the article confirms he's an Irish musician so putting him in the category "English Musicians" doesn't make sense. So I changed it to Irish musician. DanielTokenhouse (talk) 11:23, 24 April 2024 (UTC)

Good Will Hunting

A lot of Good Will Hunting was filmed in Boston, including the famous scene at the L Street Tavern. They also filmed some parts in Toronto, however a lot of the movie was actually filmed in the city of Boston (and next door Cambridge). IntrepidReason (talk) 07:55, 13 May 2024 (UTC)

I am aware. What is your reason for giving this information? Seasider53 (talk) 10:32, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
Reverted edit 1222438616 (it says "wasn't in Boston"). IntrepidReason (talk) 19:29, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
L Street Tavern is in South Boston. Barely any scenes were shot in Boston itself. Seasider53 (talk) 19:35, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
L Street Tavern is in South Boston. Bunker Hill Community college is Charlestown. They were in front of the old au bon pan in Harvard Square. Matt Damon and Robin Williams sat on the bench together in the Public Garden. Matt Damon took the Red Line. Ben Afleck's character Chuck's job interview was at 60 State Street. They used the court house in the Seaport. They filmed at MIT (Cambridge, next to Boston). A lot of scenes were actually filmed in Boston. IntrepidReason (talk) 19:45, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
You aren’t understanding what constitutes Boston and what are cities outside of Boston. And only the exterior of the college was used for establishing shots; the interior was filmed elsewhere. Seasider53 (talk) 19:50, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
Charlestown is a Boston neighborhood. South Boston is a Boston neighborhood. 60 State Street is Downtown Boston. The Public Garden is in Boston. The Seaport is a Boston neighborhood. I remember them filming in Boston over 25 years ago. Matt Damon and Robin Williams were in the Public Garden. Cambridge is not Boston, but it's right over the bridge. Many big scenes were filmed in Boston. IntrepidReason (talk) 19:52, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
