Massive Vandalism by Anonymous User

Bonafide.hustla (talk · contribs) tendentious edits
editBonafide.hustla was the only person labeling other editor's completely legitimate reverts as "vandalism". Many of Bonafide.hustla edits are bogus and POV pushing. See Bonafide.hustla's contributions for more details. He has been POV pushing and making tendentious edits to many articles since his initial arrival to Wikipedia and he was formerly known as Freestyle.king (talk · contribs) (who was repeatedly blocked) before he change his username. Bonafide.hustla has now resorted to making bogus vandalism reports which were promptly rejected, here and here. Bonafide.hustla should be blocked for constant disruption and wikilawyering. --RevolverOcelotX 06:28, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

editI deleted all of the info that didn't pertain to the IAF in the section "Israel-Lebanon Conflict: July 2006 - Present" of article Israeli_Air_Force because comments about the war don't belong there. There's an entire article about the conflict/war, it's called 2006_Israel-Lebanon_conflict . Regardless of where you stand, it's inappropriate to talk about details of the conflict in this article, especially the afformentioned section, which is only to be "Records and Highlights."
- Response to your talk in my IP - Thanks for your comments, I'm just learning the appropriate way to make changes. I'm not sure how to say something may be appropriate, just "not here in this article."

Question about blanking comments
editUser:Roy Brumback was previously blocked by you. This user has been blanking all comments on his user page, presumably to clean it up, but I sent him a message because (unless I'm wrong), isn't this forbidden? Shouldn't all warnings and blocks be left on the page? I didn't warn him for that (he erased my comments, but I'm not really concerned), but let him know that signed comments cannot be removed, and suggested that he revert and archive. Have I interpreted policy correctly? Thanks for your time! Cheers! --Chuchunezumi 20:49, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Ferick
editBefore you try unblocking Ferick, you might want to see the user-conduct RfC that I've just posted - Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Ferick. The short version is that this is a long-term problem user, unfortunately. -- ChrisO 01:31, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
The owner of this account has appealed to unblock-en-l; can you please provide some more information as to what incident and what user(s) Breaca2 is believed to be sockpuppeting for/as/whatever?
Thank you. Georgewilliamherbert 17:58, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well, ok, so they have two accounts. But they weren't going to any effort to hide that, and didn't use them anytime close together to edit anything. Multiple accounts isn't against WP policy, it's only sockpuppeting if you use them to get around stated policy. The Breaca account doesn't seem to have done anything abusive other than that same change to that article. There's no set of warnings on its talk page (no talk page), no block history, etc.
- It's legit to figure out if they intended to have multiple accounts or just forgot one password or something, but what's here in front of me isn't sockpuppetry evidence.
- If you think that other accounts editing that Fatos Tarifa article are the same person then feel free to make the case for there being actual policy-violation sockpuppetry. But just these two, is clearly not in violation of policy.
- Thanks. Georgewilliamherbert 22:18, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Need help with citation
editIn the article on Zhou Enlai "European Years" 2nd para is a reference (note 1) I put in. Someone has added that a citation is needed for this note. My problem is I don't know how to cite the source. Can you help? Here is the source:
Biography. "Eldest Son" by Han Suyin
p 52 Quote:
Back in France... he moved in with Zhang Shenfu and Liu Tsingyang who had begun to set up a Communist cell which included... Tsai Hosen... all three had been members of Mao Dzedong's New People Study Society. Enlai became part of the group and in May 1921 Liu and Zhang sponsored him to become a Communist Party member. His Party membership was reconfirmed in the summer of 1922.
Unquote
p 422 (Note to Chapter 4, pages 52-53) The complete note reads as follows:
Quote:
Controversy over the exact date Zhou became a Communist Party member has gone on for years. Because of a long history of clandestinity, Party members did not carry cards and often only knew their two sponsors. It was difficult to verify Party membership because of infiltration tactics by the Guomindang. Zhou himself wrote "autumn 1922" instead of May 1921 as the date of his admission as a Party member at a verification carried out before the Party's Seventh Congress in 1945. "I was a member of the Socialist Youth League" he explained. But it is now agreed that the French branch of the Chinese Communist Party began with the Youth League, and Zhou was therefore a bona fide Party member starting in May 1921. Why then did he write "autumn 1922" as the date of his membership? Possibly because claiming Party membership as of May 1921 would give him "seniority" over many other Party leaders, including Mao. The Seventh Congress was the one that consecreted the supremacy of Mao Dzedong and made him the Party founder. Hence, possibly, Zhou's tactful change of date.
Unquote.
Can you do this for me? I can't seem to get it done following the instructions on the Help page. Xtrump 02:57, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

3RR
editHi, I saw you blocked User:Anarcho-capitalism after a 3RR report written by User:Donnachadelong. However the 4th revert seems to be different then all other three, which seems to suggest that this is merely a content dispute, and that the filed 3RR report is incorrect. Intangible 11:52, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- Right. Thanks Intangible. The claimed 4th revert was insertion of new material and a source. Because it was in the same general location, it looked like a revert if one didn't take the time to read it. So, I'm sure it's an honest mistake. How can I get this cleared from my record?Anarcho-capitalism 16:29, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

editAs you were the original deleting administrator, you may be interested in this exchange developing at my talk page. (By the way, on a related note -- two of the images from the article have now shown up on Commons. Is there a deletion criteria on Commons for media uploaded strictly to accompany an A7 speedy?) Deletion of Timothy Budd
editWhile I actually agree with your deletion, several users (including myself), have asked that this page be undeleted and AfD'd, since it did seem to assert notability, even if that assertion was invalid. Would you mind if I did this? Prodego talk 01:56, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Schoolblock
editJust a quick suggestion: When you block IPs like 206.219.94.10 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log), try adding {{Schoolblock}} as the block explanation. The template will then transclude onto the mediawiki blocked page. Coincidentally, I strongly approve of your block length. It's nice to see admins stepping up to the plate in preventing educational vandalism. alphachimp 17:03, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
AFAIK afd does not preclude speedy deletion. The article clearly fits {{db-band}}, so afd is a waste of time. GregorB 23:22, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm... You're correct about that last one. Mention of that band may qualify it. Tenuous perhaps, but I agree: it is best resolved through afd... GregorB 11:20, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Why did you speedy delete the enhanced windows backup entry ?
editthere is a comprehensive List of backup software on wikipedia and i was just adding one more to this list. Its used by more than 20,000 people, has been around for more than 18 months and has a recognisable brand name of its own. please explain and re-assure me that you won't delete again if i add it back.
ETC Source Four PAR
editThe article on the ETC Source Four PAR is not intended to be spam, and I'm in no way affiliated with Electronic Theatre Controls. I saw a request for the creation of the article on the Stagecraft wikiproject, and so created it with the information I had on hand, I've recreated it, and will be fleshing it out a bit later (hence I labeled it a stub) when I have more data available. I can understand why you might have mistaken the article for spam, but the fixture is developed exclusively by ETC. --starX 20:02, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Can you point out how the Source Four meets your criteria? I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and presume that you're not a lighting designer or entertainment electrician, and so aren't very knowledgeable in this area, but Source Four PARs are a fairly ubiquitous tool, and I'm sure I can easily find some recent trade pubs that will list them as a part of any recent lighting design. No one has reviewed them in a long time because they're not all that new. They're notable because if you walk into any theatre with a respectable budget, you'll probably see a few of them up in the air. --starX 22:50, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Sasquatch. The Source 4 Par article has come to the attention of WP:STAGE and seems to be a valid part of the project. Noteable? I would say so - in the same way as Macintoshes are only made by Apple (for example), only ETC make the Source 4 PAR. (And if you read the WP:STAGE page, you'll find that I'm one of the people who thins that ETC are "Overexposed" in the project.) They are still very much a notable part of the tools available to a lighting designer. One of the problems we face at WP:STAGE is that academic references are scarce, and where available, often out of date. You'll note that all the other "Lighting instrument" pages are similarly "unreferenced." Anyway, we'd appreciate it if you left the stub there while we work on it. Bryson430 10:34, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Diverse article deletion
editI would like to know why the Diverse article was recently deleted. The deletion log states that it was deleted because it was about a "...non-notable individual, band, service, website or other entity", but it does not state by which process it selected for deletion, which are listed here. As somebody recently wrote in the talk page for that former article, he is notable. A while ago, this article was nominated for deletion because of lack of citations and no evidence of notability. I set to work collecting citations that demonstrate Diverse is a notable individual, and added them to the page. I am wondering how these citations fell short of demonstrating his notability. -seliopou 21:43, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

editI added Set dance to your desk. It has been on cleanup since September 2005 (the oldest month that is open). I almost removed the cleanup tag but there is some bolding that seems wrong to me (so it may need wikifying) for terms like first tops. I considered changing to italics or just plain text but couldn't decide. Would you look at it, please? You may see other things that can be improved. (Please let me know if you prefer not to work on this and I'll ask someone else). Thank you. RJFJR 13:27, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

editSasquatch, why did you delete the CineForm page in March?
